I wake to another note on the table.
Out on an errand. I'll return later. Spend some time organizing the room. It's yours now.
Don't go looking for trouble.

I don't know whether to be happy that I have my own room or yo be nervous about becoming a member of a vampire family. The Original vampire family no less.
Instead I decide to focus on my new room and try and forget how crazy this is all making me.
I sit down on the bed and scan around the room. It's all very fancy. Paintings and ancient relics hang on the walls.
I think about different colors for the wall for awhile and finally settle on dark green. I guess growing up in the forest, it was my favorite view.
Nik shows up a few hours later. I spot him talking with Elijah in another room, it looks tense. Nik is pacing back and forth and it looks like Elijah is trying to calm him. They both stand at the back of the room, trying to keep quiet.
Before I can stop myself, I'm down the stairs and I open the door.
The conversation abruptly stops as I enter the room. Elijah looks from me to Nik.
"Go Lorelei." Nik says
"What?"
Suddenly he's a foot away from me.
"Leave. This conversation doesn't concern you."
I stare at him and my confusion turns into annoyance.
"I live here too Nik." I say
He lets out a frustrated sigh and suddenly
I'm back upstairs in my bedroom facing the bed with my back towards the door.
I whip around but not fast enough.
Nik is standing in the doorway and I watch as he takes a step back and swiftly shuts the door.
Before I can yank the door open, I hear a lock click into place.
Damn it.
