I run down the stairs after her but I lose sight of her. I focus and inhale and catch her scent. Once I find her, she's in the study with everyone else.

"We took every precaution. We relocated here and we made sure not to leave any bodies." Nik says more to himself than the others in the room
"Must we really spend the next few centuries running from our monster of a father?" Kol asks
"I don't want to run anymore Nik. We were all happy where we were." Rebekah says annoyed

Elijah stands in the back of the group, he's so still that you could mistake him for a statue.

"I agree with our siblings. We spent too much time running. We must fight back and we do have an advantage. He doesn't know that we know."

"Hold on a minute. We don't even know if it's actually him. The rumors are that he's in Kansas looking for us." Kol says
"What is your point?" Nik demands

"My point is that we shouldn't lose our heads. What if we're running for nothing?" Kol asks

Everyone is silent for a long moment.

"What do you suggest?" Elijah asks

"One of us could go check and see if it's a legitimate story or not." Kol says
"Who Mikael would either capture or kill." Nik points out
"What about her?" Kol asks pointing at me
"Absolutely not." Nik replies
"Think about it brother. If it is him, we have an advantage. He doesn't know we're onto him yet and he wouldn't be able to identify her."
Kol continues

Elijah looks like he agrees with Kol but he says nothing, staring intently at his brother

Nik shoots a glare at Kol.

"I said no."

Then he takes off out of the room.
