It takes a moment as I carefully walk up the street but I manage to catch sight of them.
"Give up boy. I'm stronger and smarter than you." Mikael says
He pushes the stake closer to Nik's heart. Nik groans as he does his best to keep it from piercing him.
My eyes glow as I stare at the scene from a few streets away. I know I was only supposed to cut Mikael off if he came in my direction but watching him berate and harm Nik makes my blood boil.
I turn, keeping my eyes locked onto him to make sure he doesn't go anywhere. Then I slip off down into an alley and around the building and up onto a nearby fire exit out of his view.
But not out of Nik's.
Nik and I lock eyes briefly and then he turns his attention back to Mikael who doesn't seem to notice the exchange.
Nik pushes against Mikael.
One foot closer then three.
Come on Nik.
Mikael is now a few feet below me. I jump over the railing and land and snap my jaws around Mikael's wrist.
He yells out in pain as my venom mixes with the blood in his veins. He tries to shake me off but he can't.
He may be strong but he doesn't match the jaw strength of a wolf.
Nik pries the stake from Mikael's hands and looks at me. I make no attempt to move, keeping Mikael in place.
"You don't have the guts boy."
"You forget. I'm somewhat of an expert in killing parents." He says in a low voice
Mikael tries again to yank himself free and I bite down even harder.
"Even if you manage to kill me, I'll be waiting for the day I return. I get to watch as your corpse turns to ash." He sneers
Nik steps closer to him and scans his face for a short moment. I wonder what he imagined when he looks at him.
"You first." He says and sinks the blade into Mikael's heart
He doesn't cry out. His mouth hangs open and he gasps like he's struggling for air. I release him and he falls to the ground. The wound ignites and as I watch, it spreads from his chest to the rest of his body. He's dead, eyes open staring blankly up at the sky as his skin starts to turn into ash and float up into the air.
Then he's gone.
Elijah Rebekah and Kol speed in from different directions and stare down at the spot their father had been lying moments ago.
"It's over." Elijah says
"Good. It's about bloody time." Rebekah says
"Great. Well I've had quite enough of the Mikaelson family bonding so I'm headed out." Kol announcesThen he too, vanishes.
I still stand there in wolf form, pacing a little. I don't like having to stay still if I don't have to.
Elijah and Rebekah head back to the house and I take off into the woods nearby.
