I open the door to my balcony and peer down.
It's a good 20 foot drop.
I may be a wolf but I don't like dropping from heights. Maybe it's because my Alpha would throw traitors off cliffs or maybe it's just how it's always been.
I take a deep breath, step onto the railing and jump.
I don't land gracefully.
I hit the ground hard and roll a few times before I manage to climb onto my feet.
I stand up and walk over to the back door of the house.
Elijah stands there with an amused look on his face. Nik notices and turns around to see me.
"I locked you in." He says
"Forgot about the balcony." I say with a smile
Elijah is trying not to smile while Nik gives me a dirty look. He marches over towards me but I don't move an inch.
Nik's eyes lock onto mine as he leans closer.
"Don't push it love. You might not like what happens if you do." He whispers not breaking eye contact
I look away, skin burning.
I'd be crazy to fall in love with a man like him.
