I stand in front of the mirror.

Dark green tank top and black jeans.

I spent the morning looking at paint for my room. I decide to go with a dark green called cadmium for the trim and forest green for the walls. The idea for the room is yes: the woods.

After cleaning the floors and cabinets I walk out into the woods and sit down to enjoy the sunlight.

I pull off my clothes and take off for another hunt.

Time to find another deer.

It takes about an hour for me to find one, I eat then get dressed and head inside. I think back to a question Elijah had asked, why I don't eat human food. I'd explained how when I was living in the mountains, it made everything easier. I didn't need equipment or storage or anything. Sometimes I'd even trade information to Hector's enemies in exchange for goods like clothes or anything else I might've needed.

They'd come as campers and we'd discuss together. Word had somewhat spread to other wolf packs that Hector was more vulnerable after what I'd done. Some members starting questioning his ways and when they did, they were killed. Dumb on Hector's part.

Less wolves, less security.

I'd though about seeing if I could find a place near other stray wolves but decided against it.

After seventeen years of hell, I was finally free and I was going to live my own life.

I stare at the list of chores and groan.

All I really wanted to do today was paint my new room. Instead, I get to clean the toilets.

Yay me.
