Klaus's POV:

Hayley and I take off to the address. Elijah has stayed behind to help protect Freya and Lorelei is still lying on the bed compelled to sleep until this is over. Each step is in place.

Everything just needs to go according to plan.

The address is a small home that hadn't seen love in many years, left abandoned. I listen in closely and hear the sound of a child crying. I don't hesitate and we burst in but find nothing.

"I'm going to call Freya. Make sure she gave us the right address." Hayley says

As she makes her way to the door, it slams shut in her face. She pushes but it doesn't open.

"You have the right place." A voice says

Suddenly Kira appears and she's not exactly what I would expect. She's got flaming red hair and dark blue eyes. She looks to be around 25 like she hasn't aged a day since Kol had seen her last. I don't see Hope with her.

"Where is our child?" I demand
"Give me Dahlia and I will give you the kid. I'm not a monster. I don't enjoy spilling innocent blood but I will if I have to." Kira says

"If you hurt her I swear to God-" Hayley begins
"I have no need as long as you give me what I ask for. Your child will be returned without so much a scratch on her little head."

I move towards Kira, ready to kill but she creates a spell to block me.

"Should you attempt to harm me, you should know I have a spell in place. A simple protection spell. But anything you attempt to do to me will affect your child."

I shoot Hayley a look but she shakes her head. I can almost hear what she's thinking.

Stick to the plan.

We stand at a stand still, none of us making a move on the other.

There's a loud explosion as the doors are blown apart and we prepare to attack when we catch a glimpse of the intruder who makes us stop in our tracks.

Standing there, clear as day is Dahlia.

"Really? Using a child to try and command me? I thought you were smarter Kira." Dahlia says

"You will pay for the blood you spilled." Kira says eyes locked on hers

"I slept for centuries by a spell of my own design waiting for the day I'd avenge my sister. That day, I was at the market when it all went up in flames. I ran home as you set fire to each building. I ran up the steps to help Nala just as you set fire to her roof. It collapsed and she was trapped inside. I was helpless as I listened to her scream for me until she went silent." Kira tells her, voice thick with pain and hatred as she moves toward Dahlia

"I came to town to collect on a debt owed to me. It was your clan who refused me and they paid the price." Dahlia says

"My sister was innocent!" Kira roars

Dahlia says nothing and raises her hand.

"You don't want to hurt me." Kira warns
"Your spell was childsplay." Dahlia says and knocks her into the air

Kira chants a spell that blasts Dahlia but Dahlia hits her with one of her own that knocks her back. As the fight continues, it moves out into the yard. Hayley and I search the house.

We rush through the hallway and search room by room but there's no sign of Hope. Hayley and I take a deep breath and open the door. There's a large pink blanket in the middle of the floor. We move closer and find Hope perfectly safe and dreaming peacefully.

The blanket is surrounded by a circle of salt.

Boundary spell.

"Hope!" Hayley says excitedly and rushes over to get her but the boundary spell is still in place.

We walk outside and see Kira lying motionless on the ground. Standing above her is not Dahlia. The image shifts and reveals that Kira was never fighting Dahlia. Instead, Freya stands above her.

"She's gone." Freya says

Hayley takes off back into the house and returns a few minutes later with Hope in her arms.

"Her protection spell was simple. I broke it on the way here." Freya tells us

Finally, we head home all in one piece.
