Klaus's POV:
I walk in through the street and wipe the blood from my lips as I head to the kitchen. Rebekah is standing there keeping the fridge door open as she packs away groceries.
"Morning." I say
"Morning Nik." She saysI head over to the coffee pot.
"It was empty. I'm brewing a pot right now." She says
Strike one Lorelei.
I gesture towards the groceries as she puts a few bottles of lemonade in the fridge.
"I figured it's best to keep it stocked." She says and shuts the door
I nod.
That makes sense. Although we consume our fair share of blood, we still eat human food.
I head upstairs to Lorelei's room and knock on the door. I know it's early and she may pitch a fit for me waking her up but I've got a surprise in store for her.
I open the door slowly and walk over to her nightstand and turn her sound machine off.
I remember back when I'd first suggested she get it.
Flashback:
We're all sitting in the dining room eating dinner. We'd all fed throughout the night while one person would stay behind with Hope. Now while the rest of us sit and eat, Lorelei sips on an iced coffee, one of the few human things she'd grown to love
We'd been staying in the old plantation house for a few days to get out of the chaos in the city.
"It's so quiet here that it hurts." Lorelei complains
"Oh no peace and quiet in the Mikaelson home? It's a sign. The end of the world is here." Kol says dramatically
"Lorelei most of the time we can barely stand being in a room with one another." Rebekah tells her
"Oh just wait. One of us will ruin it." Elijah says
"Look call me crazy but I'm used to the sounds of the woods. And then I got used to listening to jazz every night."
"So get a noise machine. It will play sounds to help you sleep." I suggest
"Does it work?" She asks
"I used one for Hope." Hayley saysI pull out my phone and motion her over and show her pictures of what we're talking about.
"I come with a gift." I say softly
Lorelei stirs in the bed and I give her a few moments to stretch. Once she opens her eyes, I show her a plate of strawberries. Her eyes go wide at the sight. It was one food she'd grown up loving but hadn't had a single berry in over a year.
"You broke one of the rules today love. Do you know what one it was?" I ask
She shakes her head.
"The coffee maker." I say
I watch as she furrows her brow in concentration then it hits her.
"I was out hunting really late. It took awhile and I had to settle for a turkey instead." She says thinking out loud
She gives me a kiss and apologizes.
I kiss her back and tell her it's okay.
She gets one warning.
Only one a day.
Little did I know, that would become her favorite game, pushing my buttons.
