I'm going a little stir crazy by the next few days. I'm not used to being cooped up in a room. I'm used to being surrounded by the woods.

I miss the fresh air.

Moving quietly towards the doorway, I put my ear to the door and listen intently. After not hearing anything for the next few minutes, I open the door, walk out and quietly shut it behind me. I let out an exhale and quickly scan both sides of the hallway,

Nothing.

I move quietly down the stairs and turn and run straight into Elijah.

Fuck.

He stands there in a black jacket, white long sleeve and black tie.

A suit.

How fitting.

He stares at me curiously but at the same time he's also blocking my escape. I think of something to say, any excuse to explain what I'm doing here.

I open my mouth to speak.

"Don't lie Lorelei." He says

I close my mouth unable to come up with the words I needed.

"It's not very wise you know." He says
"What do you mean?" I ask my throat dry and body filling with dread
"Attempting to sneak around in a house filled with Originals, Lorelei." Elijah says looking slightly amused

I fight back an eye roll trying to rack my brain for a way out of this. He's not being very quiet and if Nik is in earshot-

I sigh.

"Elijah I grew up in the woods. I'm not used to..well all of this." I say gesturing to the house

He stares at me for a long moment and I wish I could tell what he was thinking

Is he going to rat me out to Nik? Am I going to somehow end up in a coffin like Rebekah? If I actually tried to run would he kill me?

My heart is racing and I know he can hear it.

"Very well." He says and takes a step over to the left, letting me by

I quickly move past him and move towards the door.

"And Lorelei?"
"Yeah?" I ask turning around
"I would hate to see what would happen should you attempt to run."

My blood goes cold.

I'm not sure if that was a warning or a threat. Either way, I need to be careful.

I try and shake the thought from my head and step out into the backyard. There's a cool breeze that makes me shiver.

I spend a few moments soaking in the peace before I head back inside. As I lie down, I think about what Elijah had said. The same questions fill my head. I take a deep breath and try to relax.

When I finally do fall asleep, I dream about my time in the Appalachian mountains.
