Once I've finished, I drag his body for awhile to keep it away from the house. Then I trot off back towards the yard.
Once I reach a few dozen feet away, I turn back and head for my clothes.
A hear a twig snap and look in front of me. It takes me a moment for my eyes to adjust and then I see what made the sound.
Standing there, holding my clothes is a very annoyed looking Nik.
I walk over and snatch my clothes, not breaking eye contact with him as I do.
"You're going to just take off whenever you feel like it love?" He asks
I turn back towards the woods and watch a squirrel run from branch to branch with a speed so fast the human eye might miss it with the dark brown bark camouflaging it's small body.
"Nik you keep me cooped up in that house day after day and this time we finally have woods to enjoy." I say
I turn back to face him and he looks slightly less annoyed than he did the moment before. A small smile begins to play along his face but he does his hardest to put on a mad face.
It's kind of cute.
Then panic sets in as a worse realization dawns on me.
Fuck I broke one of his rules.
"Listen Nik. You want to lock me up all the time? Awesome but I love the rain and I miss being in the woods." I insist
At first I wonder if he'll pick a fight with me.
Then he chuckles.
"Very well. At least if you're going to be out for awhile leave me a note or something."
I nod and he moves to the side and I pass by I'm and move back towards the house listening to his footsteps follow behind me.
