It was only a matter of time before they were close to their destination; the sun was already starting to set, and Megan was fidgeting with the radio. "Ugh, there is nothing good on right now."

"I'm sure there is one song that you'd like."

"Hold on... got it." The song Megan chooses to listen to is "Saudade" by Cody Matthew Johnson. "This one is good." She leans back against the seat, shifting her knees by the car door, "When we get to the next gas station, I'm gonna get a snack."

"Yeah, good thing there is one not too far from here, it's already late but at least we made it. We'll hurry on gas and make it to the station."

"Still, can't believe you didn't think this through. You don't even have an apartment there do you? And where are you going to sleep? In the jeep?"

"I'll work something out."

With the sun setting and the night sky starting to rise along with some clouds, "Leon sighed quietly, "Now I'm hella late."

"Wonder if it's going to rain." Up ahead was the gas station, Megan glanced over, "There. Let's go fill your jeep up. I'll get some snacks."

Leon starts to make a turn towards the gas station, the rain gently sprinkling onto the pavement. Once he was parked, they got out to stretch their legs. Leon grabs the gas pump and looks around, "No one's around?"

Megan followed his gaze at the empty gas station with the acceptance of a few cars and a police car with the doors wide open, "Huh... seems like it's a slow night, I guess?"

"That's weird."

"Welp, that's not stopping me from getting my snacks." As she was about to walk over towards the store, a loud sound of glass breaking caught their attention, "...Huh?"

The two glanced at each other and started to feel uneasy about the situation,"Should we check it out?" Megan asked.

Leon took a step to see traces of blood on the asphalt, leading inside the store, "That's not a good sign."

A shiver crawled into Megan's spine, "I didn't even notice. Should we leave?"

"Not yet, what if someone needs our help?"

"Alright then... do you have something on you?"

"I got a gun."

"What the- Since when?"

"It's my own, I got it so I could have come here prepared. I got it weeks ago."

"Wow, thanks for the info. But that means I have nothing to defend myself."

"Wait. You don't have a gun?"

"I do, but it's at home. Why the fuck would I take my gun everywhere I go when this was supposed to be a simple trip?"

"Damn it I don't know? Maybe to be more prepared for what happens?"

"Thanks Captain Obvious, way to tell me I fucked myself."

"Don't worry, just stay close to me, I won't let anything hurt you."

"Okay..."

They started to head inside, Megan stayed close behind as Leon would shield her from any potential threat, "Hello? Anybody there?" Their eyes looked around inside the building, with nothing out of the ordinary. Except for the lack of light in the ceiling and the lack of anyone's presence. The snacks remained on their shelves and not a single thing was moved from its spot. Leon glanced down at a flashlight that was on the ground.

Gently picking it up and sensing a slight eerie feeling, "Something's not right..."

"Sure isn't... It's dark and... seems like no one is in here."
