The two arrived home after their fun time at the restaurant. Megan gently patted her stomach. "That was nice; I feel much better." She then stopped to turn over to him. "If you need help getting to Raccoon City, ask me, okay? I don't mind helping."
"That's fine. What will you do before that? Thinking about relaxing at home?"
She pondered for a bit and then felt her phone buzzing. She checked to see if Alice was texting her. "Ah, right! I haven't even gotten the chance to see Alice after all that's happening. She must be so worried."
"Oh yeah, Alice. I wondered why we haven't seen her since we came back... or at our ceremony at the academy." He glanced away to think.
Megan waves it off. "It was because she told me earlier that she was attending college, which is why we haven't seen her, but since I'm here, I can surprise her. I want to freshen up and change. Will you be fine alone?"
"Of course I will, you go doll yourself up for your friend and I'll stay at home. Besides, I want you to have fun with your friend."
"Alright then, I'm not sure when I'll be back home. I'll see you later Leon." She rushed to the bathroom to take a nice shower. When the water started running, Leon went over to his room to relax. He felt proud as he managed to make Megan feel better about herself, wanting to tell someone about it he picked up his phone and dialed Melody.
He waited for her to pick up, and when he heard her voice he quickly sat up. "Melody, you won't believe the day I had."
"You won't believe the day I had either."
Leon leans against his headboard. "Oh, how was it?"
"My mother was trying to help me with finding an apartment in Raccoon City, but then goes on a whole tangent of wondering if it's safe over there and such. It's not the first time she has done this, even with my older siblings she was such a worrywart. Not that I blame her, she just wants her kids to be safe."
Leon raised his brow. "Is that all? Your mother does sound like a protective one. But at least you know how much she loves her kids."
Melody giggled. "Yeah, after that one of my brothers came over with his wife and we had so much fun. We ate together and talked about our lives, I even brought you up."
"Oh? Saying how you got a boyfriend?" He teased.
"They'd love to meet you, but I told them it might take a while since you want to go to Raccoon City. Hopefully, it'll be soon, did you receive an email yet?"
"Not yet, but soon. Oh! Let me tell you how my day was."
"Oh yeah, tell me all about it."
"We were told that we couldn't visit at the hospital because our Dad had to take a few tests, Megan got upset and kinda started to overthink things. Mostly about whether she was going to be accepted for the police station here, but I know she will get accepted."
"Isn't that her dream you told me about?"
"Yup, then we started talking about her childhood and how this wasn't the first time she took care of him when he drank. I then started talking about my parents before the accident and how different things were... she went on feeling guilty for the times we fought when we were little. I hated the way she belittled herself, she made mistakes and I don't hold it against her or anything."
