Melody heard a slight hesitation in his voice. Thinking nothing of it, she left it alone. "Anyways, I'm going to go help my mother with something. Talk to you later?"

"Yeah, talk to you later."

"Okay. Love you, Leon."

"Yeah, love you too."

He hangs up and goes to Megan's door, gently knocking. Her soft voice answers. "Come in." He enters her room to see her lying on her bed holding onto a photo of her as a baby in her father's arms. He observes how she gently grazes her finger across the glass of the photo, her chest slowly rising from her breathing, and how somber her eyes look as she stares into the picture.

He sits beside her on the bed, his weight slowly sinking. "You doing alright?"

"I am." She slowly sits up and shows him the picture, he carefully takes it in his hands. "That's me and my Dad, he told me that I was such a happy baby." She softly smiled. "I don't remember much back then, but he would always say that I was full of spunk and laughs."

Leon softly chuckled to himself. "You still do, that part never left you." He set the photo down by her nightstand and sighed. "I may not know how much this is affecting you, but when you told me about how this wasn't the first time... it got me worried."

Megan quietly sighed. "Well... I'm a bit better now since he's getting treated... but I still wish it didn't turn out like this. If I had known this would happen, I would've gotten home in a heartbeat..."

"I bet, you love your Dad so much that you were kinda taking care of him when your Mom left..."

She nodded as he looked up at her room ceiling, "You know... I think about my parents sometimes..."

She glanced at him, "You do?..."

He nodded and let out a small hum. "They are very different from you and your Dad..."

She hesitated to ask him what they were like, but the way he glanced at her felt like he knew what she wanted to ask. "My father would be busy in his office while my mother took care of me. They were strict but kind... He was this businessman who always kept to himself, but he had this powerful energy wherever he went. My mother on the other hand, when she isn't busy taking care of me, she would work alongside him. Even though they were busy, they still made time for me."

Megan glanced at him. "That's nice... At least they make time for you, I would hate it if they didn't."

"They loved me very much... We would do movie nights, go out to dinner whenever they sealed some deal or wanted to surprise me, and even go to fancy parties. Oh, how they would love me like no other... never failing to make me feel special..."

"Sounds like lots of fun, Leon." She gently held his hand, feeling sorry for how he lost them in a tragic accident. "Do you miss them?..."

"At times..."

She groans to herself and runs her fingers through her hair. "Aw, man... I'm the worst..."

Leon was caught off guard by her statement. "What do you mean?"

"I have been nothing but a massive bitch to you when we were little. All you wanted was a loving family and my dumb entitled mind was angry with you for it... I'm such a brat!"
