There were multiple arcade machines around them to choose from. Leon's eyes roamed around the many machines in the room. "Go ahead, pick something to play. I'll let you choose first."
Megan looked around for a bit to pick a two-player game. She wasn't sure which one was best for a beginner, but she might as well choose the popular ones. "How about Mortal Kombat? That fighting game."
"That's a classic, have you played it before?" He asked.
She nervously shakes her head. "Not really, I don't usually play games like that. So I don't have much of an idea."
"Yeah right, you played a few games now and then right?"
"Well, I have. But I don't play as much as you do. So I might know what I'm doing."
He chuckled, giving her shoulder a gentle nudge. "Relax, you will do just fine. What kind of games do you even play, let me guess... Truth or Dare?" He asked, trying to hold back a snicker.
"Very funny, Leon. What am I twelve?"
"Well, what other games do you play?"
"I played... uh..."
Leon let out a teasing laugh. "None?"
"Like I said I don't play many arcade games, maybe like one or two games but that's it," Megan said defensively.
He smirked at her defense. "And what exactly are those one or two games that you played?" He teased.
Her cheeks started to heat up at his question, knowing he would continue to press if she didn't answer she decided to just say it outright. "Pac-Man... and Galaga..."
Leon couldn't help but burst into laughter, his hand clenching around his stomach. "Seriously? Those two? That's all you ever played?"
She clenched her fists as her cheeks got more rosy from his teasing. "Don't give me that, those two are very popular games."
He wiped a tear away, "Yeah, but there are more games that are way more popular. You just don't play them."
"I already told you I don't play many games, not like you who played almost every day with your friends."
"Alright fair enough, now come on, I got some change to spare." He walked her over to the Mortal Kombat arcade game. "You know how to move your character right?"
"The joystick, duh."
"Good, so these buttons are for attacking, here is the defense button, and this is to use for combos."
"Okay..."
"You'll get the hang of it. Now let's pick a character. I'm going with Scorpion, you?"
Megan looked around the character list, not sure which option she clicked on one of them. "This chick is in the hot pink."
"Kitana? Nice choice. I'll go easy on you till you get the moves okay? Then we can play for real." He pressed the start button and it was time for them to fight. "Remember which buttons to press?"
"Uh yeah, I think."
At the start of the first round, Leon lets her win since it would be unfair if he destroyed her for the first time. She eventually got used to the buttons and got to kick his butt in the second round. The final round started and the two started giving their all. His gameplay is getting more and more intense as he starts using certain moves and combos that make him win quickly.
Leon pulls away from the machine to do his little victory dance. "Aw yeah, I got you, Megan."
Megan giggled as she gently punched his arm. "No fair. You played this game more than I did so you have the advantage."
