Once they left the West office, they continued their walk. Megan glanced over at Leon; it's a little puzzling how Leon seems to look a bit mellow despite the situation they're in. She's sure he's feeling a bit nervous and slightly concerned, unless he's trying his best to show her that everything is gonna be okay as long as he doesn't freak out, too, as she has been.
Noticing her eyes on him, he gave her a warm smile as they walked. It was nice to see that smile; however, she sensed that weariness in his eyes. It's almost like he is also trying to be positive. Without thinking, she gently punched his arm, "We've handled worse... in a way. Besides, we will get the hang of this eventually."
"I hope you're right."
Megan stopped in front of a metal door. "Should we check this one out?"
Leon glanced over at her, "Hm, just to make sure we didn't miss anything."
She gently pushed the metal door to reveal the Safety Deposit Room. Many lockers contained items such as first aid, ammo, and a pouch to hold more, while the rest had none. In the back of the room, she spotted a gated door; behind it was a locked case containing a shotgun. It seemed like it needed a key card to open.
"Holy shit. Leon look! We could definitely use this. We just have to find the key card."She pointed, "But for now, we can just gather what we need here with all the supplies."
"There's just one problem." He called out from the front of the room, "The keypad seems to be missing two keys."
She quickly walked over to see what he was talking about. He was right, the numbers 2 and 3 were missing. "You have got to be kidding me. What happened to the keys?"
"I think this note can clarify what happened to the keys." He handed her the piece of paper he found on the desk. "You're not gonna like it."
She held up the note to read its contents.
[Storage Locker Terminal Memo]
It appears that the keypad to the locker terminal is missing a few keys. I suggest that the person responsible for this mess find some spare keys and fix this RIGHT NOW.
(You know who you are, bastard. Who else fuck it up this badly?)
"Great... just great." She hissed. "That means some asshole got the keys and must've misplaced them around the station."
Leon glanced at the keypad, puzzled, "But why would anyone do that? It's very selfish."
"Exactly. Almost everyone is selfish when it comes to their own regard. I'm guessing when shit hit the fan, it's every man for themselves." She shakes her head in disbelief, "One can do insane things if they've been pushed enough. Even if it means harming others..."
A slight recall of the time she was about to be accused of a prank gone wrong back at the academy, but thankfully, justice was served.
"I can imagine... But do you know what lockers can be opened without the second or third key?"
"Only lockers 106 and 109. Which has handgun ammo and gunpowder. But maybe we shouldn't grab them now. We should at least try to find the other two keys for the keypad."
"Good call, let's keep searching, and hopefully we'll find them." The two then walked out of the room and continued their journey. Leon sighed, "Somehow, I get the feeling that this is not going to be an easy mission."
"You mean, after the fact that the dead have risen and are roaming around to devour our flesh? Clearly, this is an easy job." She scoffed.
His eyes glared at her for a bit, "Is this the time to be sarcastic right now?"
