I tried to block out all the chit chat going on in the council room as I leaned over some of the homework I was doing. My head hurt like crazy, and everyone around me talking so much didn't really help. I let out an exasperated sigh and walked out the room. Hanma, who was sitting next to me while I did my homework, scrolling on his phone, noticed and followed me out. I walked over to the water fountain down the hall, refilling my water bottle. Hanma followed, leaning against the wall, his arms crossed as I got there. "You good?"
I nod, humming as I hold the bottle up to drink some of it. "You sure?" I nod again. "My head just hurts a bit." He hummed, walking back around as I decided to walk back to the council room.
I feel a little woozy as I walked and stumbled a bit, holding onto the wall. Woah, what even was that? Hanma slowly turned back around, giving me a weird look and I almost burst out laughing. He placed the back of his hand against my forehead then shook his head. "Okay, it's time to leave." I shook my head as well, "No, I have to finish some of my work." He rolled his eyes, walking towards the council room. I followed but before I could even come in, he already walked out, holding my bag, already packed up. "Okay, let's go."
He beamed as he grabbed my hand, leading me out the hall. Soon, we were walking down the sidewalk, heading towards my house and I didn't feel like complaining since my head was hurting even more now. I could barely stay awake.
At least, until I saw a bug on the sidewalk. I shrieked a bit, since it was way too close. Hanma looked over his shoulder at me and bursted out laughing. I glared at him, running up behind him and holding his shoulders to make us walk forward as I hide behind him. "Don't laugh! You're so mean!" He continued laughing, which I highly disapproved of. "I'm allowed to be mean. Where would you hide if you weren't walking with me?" He teased. "I wouldn't. I would just run away. Now hurry up and go get it for me!" I urge, pushing him slightly forward, though it made no effect on someone so tall.
"Hmmm, I don't know Y/N. I kinda like seeing you clinging to me like this." I blush and stay speechless for a moment until I snap out of it when something catches my eye. I jump onto his back, wrapping my arms and legs around him, in sort of a piggyback ride.
"AHH! It's coming towards me! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!" Hanma was completely unbothered though, even a bit flattered that I decided to cling to him like this. "Geez, your hearts beating so fast~" He grinned.
I drop my head onto his shoulder, pressing my face against his neck. "Just get it, please." He decided to tease me further, "Hmmm...where? I don't see any bugs." I whacked his shoulder lightly, "Hanma, c'mon." Hanma giggled again, "Okay. Just for you, cutie." Hanma picked it up, with his bare hands, might I add, and just put it back down to the side. "There. Are we good now?" He said, looking at my face, which was really close to his now.
I nod, getting off of him now. "Thanks. Sorry for clinging to you like that. It was just kinda impulsive," I mumble, a bit embarrassed about my reaction to a simple bug. He ruffled my hair, "Nah, that was just adorable."
I cross my arms sternly, "Okay, enough flirting. My heads already hurting enough." I continue walking and Hanma follows, not saying a word this time. He always walks a step or two behind me like some sort of bodyguard.
It started to drizzle a bit as we were walking home, and at first we didn't mind. But when it started pouring, we both ran. I opened the front door, stepping in. We were both drenched at this point. "You can come in. Let me get you a towel." Hanma came inside as well. "You sure?" "Yeah. I can't have you getting sick. You've missed enough school days already." It seemed everyone was at work or school so I tip toed to the closet and grabbed us some towels. "Here you go. We should probably change too. Hm, all my clothes would be so short on you." I think to myself, walking into my room as he follows, scanning his surroundings. "Anything'll work. Whatcha got? Your room's so clean," he noted.
"Of course it is. Uh, I think this'll work. And maybe I could check my parents room to get you some shorts," I say, handing him an oversized hoodie. I leave for a minute then come back with a pair of shorts for him. He nods, "Thanks." Soon, we're both changed into fresh, dry clothes. "Now what?" Hanma asks, looking around with his hands in his pocket. I simply shrug, "Now we wait."
I lay back on my bed, pulling out my phone and scrolling through it. He decides to do the same, laying across my legs as he also scrolls. But as we know, he gets bored easy. He reaches over, pulling my phone down so he could see.
"Whatcha watching?" I pat the spot next to me and he moves over there so he can see better. We spend about an hour just sitting there, scrolling and giggling at random things on my page. I get up to go check on the clothes. "Hey, Hanma, they're dry now. But if either of us gets sick, it's your fault." I tell him strictly. He chuckled as he grabs his clothes and heads to the bathroom to change. "Alright, alright."
And the next day came. And it was me who got sick. Hanma even sent me a whole paragraph text during school, which I found a bit funny, since he also kept giving me random updates about his day with the goofiest pictures to show what was happening. In one of them, he was smiling while holding up a thumbs up, while two people were fighting in the back with a whole crowd around them and just chaos.
He seemed so unbothered. That's such a Hanma thing to do.
