The bell chimed signaling the shop owners of our arrival. We go to this ice cream place almost all the time after Toman meetings. Emma also joined us along the way. "Good evening, guys. What do y'all want?" After we all got our ice cream, we went to sit at our usual table outside, on the balcony, overlooking the road.
"Y/N, could you come here for a second?" Mikey requested, interrupting my conversation with his sister. I nodded, and Emma turned to talk to Draken. They're so cute.
I joined Mikey who led me to the couch in the corner of the shop. The shop was two stories, but downstairs it was a bakery, and you had to walk through the stairs of the bakery to get up here. There weren't any other people in the shop besides us, since it was so late, and everyone else was outside on the balcony. The owners had also gone into the back. I sat next to him, and placed my feet up on the table.
"So, what'd you need?" "I know you have a question for me. You can ask now," he said in a low voice, eating a spoon of his ice cream. "Oh, right. Why don't you let me fight? I mean, besides the whole not hurting women thing. You don't care if Senju fights Toman members. Or even Emma. She's learning how to." He stared at wall across from us, then sighed and stretched, leaning into the couch. "You're different." Okay, now this man is really confusing me. "How? You would fight me all the time when we were younger. You didn't care back then." He smiled at the memory of that and turned his head to face me. "I didn't realize back then."
"Realize what?" "How precious you are to me. I mean, all my friends are precious to me obviously, but you were someone who had the potential to keep up with me. And I didn't like the idea that you could become better than me someday so I told myself that I was just stopping you from improving. But i'll be real honest here, Y/N, it was the part of me that didn't want to see you getting hurt that told you that. I don't why but I seriously hate it when I see any injuries on you. Last time, when you had that cut on your arm I felt the Dark Impulse. I don't ever want to feel that, so I'm just trying to keep you unharmed," he explained.
"But I can keep myself unharmed too. You don't have to always-" He wrapped his arms around me, and buried his face into my neck.
I set my ice cream down on the table, and returned the hug, still confused. "Just let me do this for you," he whispered into my shoulder, tightening his hold. I pulled away after a minute or two and he looked at me with blank eyes, before putting on a big smile and getting up. "That's enough sappy stuff. C'mon, let's go outside with them." I was about to say something but he cut me off once again by placing a quick kiss on my forehead and heading outside.
Okay, seriously, what's going on? I needed a minute before returning to the group, so I asked the owners where the bathroom was. They sent me to the one downstairs since the one upstairs was out of order. I stayed in there a bit trying to put pieces together and make everything make sense, but I realized that would take me years and left the bathroom.
The bakery part of the store was super busy at this hour for some reason. I scanned the overhead menus and glass shelves. Oh my gosh, there's Dorayaki! And some cake pops.
I ordered some of both, extra for Mikey, and turned towards the stairs with my bag. And somehow, I crashed into someone and we both dropped our stuff. "Oh no! I'm so sorry!" It was a guy who looked to be around my age with short white hair and sharp purple eyes. The guy was wearing a navy blue swestshirt and black cargos. He had two earrings too. He's kind of hot, not gonna lie.
He seemed to have dropped his wallet. All of my stuff was in a bag, so none of it was spoiled. "My bad," he said, and we both bent down to pick up our stuff. My fingers almost reached the bag but I shot back up as we bumped our heads together, very sharply and painfully. He seemed unfazed but I held my head in my hands, and could also see stars at the moment. He picked up my stuff for me and waited as I rubbed the top of my head.
"Here, watch where you're going next time," he muttered. Well, damn. He's not even gonna ask if i'm okay? "Sorry..." I reached into my bag super quickly and pulled out the cake pops, holding them out to him. "Here. You can have them as a formal apology." His white hair swept to the side as he tilted his head to stare at them. "I don't need those." I rolled my eyes at him. "They're the strawberry ones, bro. The strawberry ones are the good ones. They're literally my favorite. You can't decline those. I swear I didn't poison them, I just bought them in front of you," I explained.
I normally wouldn't care but i'm gonna feel super guilty if I don't apologize formally. He stared at me with a confused look on his face. "Do you like strawberry cake pops?" He asked. "I just said they were my favorite," I sighed. When he continued to stare, I got weirded out. "What?" He shook his head, "You remind me of someone I knew when I was younger." "Oh, really? Did she like cake pops?" He gave me a look. "That's none of your business.....She did look like you though."
"Boss." I looked over his shoulder to the person who said that. It was some tall guy, who looked kind of intimidating. He was super tall, had different colored eyes, dark hair, and a scar. The white haired guy nodded to him. He accepted my cake pops, and followed the other guy towards the door. I saw him turn back to look at me one more time before leaving.
Y'know, he also seems familiar to me.
