Detention

The day had gone by pretty quick, and the signs of rain had worsened. Everyone was either pulling out umbrellas, getting them from their lockers, or complaining they forgot theirs and sharing with someone who lived close to them. I was one of the people who had forgotten theirs. It's okay, though, there's probably extras in the council room. Right. The council room. I have to watch over Hanma today.

I groaned, dropping my head into my hands. I wanna go home.

I took a deep breath before sliding open the door to the council room. Piercing yellow eyes stared back at me. "Y-" I slammed the door shut in his face. Nevermind guys, I lied. I can't do this. The sound of footsteps knocked some sense into me. "Hey, L/N, you gon check the baseballs club's today?" asked Coach, walking down the hall way towards me.

I shook my head, "I have to plan for the festival and stuff, plus they're making me watch over detention today, so I'll probably walk by there tomorrow." "Dang, the teachers really making you watch over detention?"

I nodded, humming. "I mean, there's just one person, though."

"One person," Coach questioned, staring up in thought. "I thought I gave at least twenty seven kids detention today." I stared at him in disbelief. "Okay! That's great! You should go do your job and train the baseball kids, bye!" Coach chuckled, "I was just playing L/N. Good luck, and thanks for all the work you've been doing." I giggled, sliding open the council room door again and was faced with the same scene from before. My impulses got the best of me and I immediately went to close it again but Hanma put his arm between the doorframe.

"What's wrong, my little Dragonfly?" he teased.

I hushed him urgently. "I told you not to say that!" I whisper yelled. Hanma just shrugged. I noticed the way his earring glinted in the light. The rain was still there, and showed no signs of slowing down. All the sports teams are probably practicing inside too. I grabbed the notebook we usually use from the shelf and sat down at the table.

Hanma followed and sat across from me, working on english homework apparently. The notebook contained information, drafts, and ideas of all the past school festivals they've had.

Normally the rest of the student council would be here with me, but today's schedule is different. I got tired of staring at the little doodles and labels so I looked up at Hanma.
He didn't seem to interested in his work either.

I haven't really heard good things about him.

He's the total definition of a gangster. I mean, I can't be talking here, but he has tattoos on his hands, steals, smokes, tortures, and he's also killed. I don't know if the last one is true or not, but I'm hoping it's not. I don't want to be sitting here with a murder, y'know. They say he does all that just for the thrill of it. He finds it exciting. I'll admit he scares me. Like a lot. I may not show it, but not showing your fear is literally rule number one. All the rumors in different areas just say he's dangerous. He's even got some nickname too. He's like the perfect example of crazy. I'm surprised he came to school. With his lifestyle, school would probably be the last thing on his mind.

"What?" He asked looking up. "Hm?" "You're staring." Crap, I didn't realize I was staring. Y'know what? Fuck it. "Why'd you come to school today?" Okay, now I kind of regret my little bold moment. Very bold of me. I expected him to make some rude comment or just ignore me but he answered, "I just felt like it," He shrugged. "You felt like it? That's not really why, is it? I mean, you don't have to tell me, I was just wondering." He looked a little surprised. "I just thought I'd give it another shot. Obviously it didn't go well, considering the fact I'm in here right now."

"Why? Do you not like school?" He looked at me and started laughing. Okay, now I was super puzzled. "What's so funny?" "That's a strange question to ask."
