The festival went pretty well, and I was happy with it. We stayed a bit afterwards to clean up and after cleaning, some of the clubs decided to have a little party to celebrate it. I was pretty tired after all that though, so I went home early, telling Sorla and my secretary to handle everything afterwards.
I fell asleep as soon as I got into bed at home. The next morning, I walked into the kitchen, yawning and stretching. "That looked like a good stretch."
I looked around to see who said that since my parents are at work right now. It was Mikey, sitting at the kitchen counter, eating a bowl of cereal. I forgot he has a key. "What're you doing here?" I ask, sitting next to him and getting myself a bowl of cereal too.
"I wanted to come see you. Honestly, we should go over to my house. And everyone at the dojo misses you, so we should go." I shrugged, "Alright, then." We finished our breakfast and I got ready so that we could walk towards his house. We walked into the dojo, and saw Grandpa Sano shouting at some kids. "Kick higher! Well, not like that. It has to have more force!" He looked up when me and Mikey walked in and his face brightened.
"Y/N! Where have you been? You missed so many practices. You better work extra hard to catch up," he scolded. "I will," I laughed, bowing to him. "Anyways, you should be visiting us more often. You used to come over everyday back when you were little." I nodded, "I'll try to, haha. I've just been busy with school things lately, but I'll visit a lot more during the summer." "As you-" "Okay, we're gonna go now, Grandpa, see you later!" Mikey said, dragging me away from the conversation.
"You didn't even let me-" "You need to come see my bike first! I added things to it!" We walked by the Sano's main house, and Emma was walking outside, so she saw us. "Y/N?" She ran towards me, tackling me into a hug.
I hugged back and Mikey stood there, crossing his arms, annoyed. "You can leave now, I wanna show her my bike." Emma rolled her eyes, grabbing my hands, and leading me away, "You can show her later, I wanna talk to her right now."
She led me into their living room, with Mikey following, and arguing his point. "Well, I was talking to her first, so you can talk to her after." "Nope, me first!" Shinichiro was sitting on the couch, walking something, and looked up to see his siblings arguing over my undivided attention. He sighed, rolling his eyes, getting up and pulling me away from them, into the kitchen. "I don't get how you're not fed up with them already," he laughed. I shrugged, "It's honestly entertaining."
Izana walked into the kitchen, grabbing something out of the fridge. At first I was really confused as to why he was just casually walking around in the Sano's house, then I remembered what he told me before I time leaped. He's related to them. Well, now it makes sense.
The Sano's and I are pretty close. We always just walk into each other's houses, hang out, and everyone else there is already used to it. He turned around, and froze when he saw me. "Oh, hey." "Hi."
Shinichiro looked up when he heard Mikey and Emma heading this way. He looked over to me and Izana. "You know what? We need some more soda. You two can go get some," he smiled, ushering us outside, so that I wouldn't have to deal with the other two. He shut the door behind us and we stood outside, just staring at each other.
"So..should we go to the store real quick?" I asked after a while of looking around at the grass. He shrugged, "Sure." We walked out of their driveway and down the street. "You haven't been coming over lately," he noted. "Oh yeah. I was busy with the festival stuff, y'know." He nodded, "Yeah. It was fun though." My eyes widened, "You were there?" I asked. He hummed, "I was. I was playing the guitar for the music club, since their guitar guy wasn't there."
We continued walking, continuing our conversation along with it. "Really? You should've told me, I would've came to see you. I didn't know you played guitar." He shrugged, putting his arms behind his head. "I do sometimes for fun." "That's really cool. I've always wanted to learn," I said, kicking a rock along with me on the sidewalk. He looked over at me, his earrings swaying to side as he turned his head. "Well, I can teach you. I'm not exactly an expert, but I know some." "Really? You should," I laughed, as we got the store.
He held the door open for me and we walked inside. We walked over to the freezers, and he grabbed a case of soda. "Well, I guess that's all." "I mean, we could look around for a bit," I suggested. He nodded, "Yeah. I wanna get some snacks." We went our own ways, browsing the aisles and looking for things we'd want to get. I was looking at some of the chips and stepped back, running into somebody. "Oh, my bad." I looked up to see who it was.
It was Hanma. He wrapped his arms around my waist, and rested his chin on my shoulder from behind to prevent me from stumbling back. "Well, hello there," he smirked.
I rolled my eyes playfully, "You always run into me somehow. Have you been keeping track of where I go?" He hummed in thought, "Well, it just so happens that you run into me too. I could ask the same." "I have better things to do than watch your every action," I teased. "Oh yeah? Who says I don't?" He grinned.
I finally realized how close we were and stepped away a bit. I've gotten comfortable with his flirting and my flirting back that I don't even realize when we seem to be acting like an actual couple. Hanma looked at something over my shoulder so I turned to look too.
It was Izana, standing there with his arms crossed. "Who's this, darling?" Hanma asked, making his voice even more sweet. "Don't call her that!" Izana snarled. "She doesn't mind. Why do you?" "Because you guys aren't together." Hanma smirked, taking that as a challenge. "Oh yeah? We could be," he grinned, putting an arm around me.
Izana's purple eyes glared into it, and he looked towards me. "Y/N, let's go back now." "Mind if I steal her from you? I'd like her help with my homework," Hanma smiled. Izana walked up to us, pushing his arm off and pulling me away, "Actually, I do mind. Now, if you want to be on good terms with Tenjiku you better stay away from us." "I'm not afraid of a fight-" "Woah, woah, you guys! Calm down. We're in the middle of a store right now, there's better ways to handle this," I interrupted. They stared each other down as I pulled Izana away and waved bye to Hanma.
He scoffed as we left the store, his hand still in mine. "I don't like that guy." I laughed a bit, "Yeah. Hanmas a bit hard to get along with." He looked away for a while, not saying anything. Then he turned back to me, as we walked back. "You don't like him do you? He seems to like you."
His hand tightened around mine as he asked that. I shook my head, "Not exactly. I'm just a bit confused about my feelings, so I'll just ignore them. I have other things I need to get done."
He seemed relieved when I said that and gave me a small smile. "Good."
