A few years later

"Good morning, Pres!" called my vice president. "Good morning," I replied, not even lifting my head up. I had gotten to school at seven, a whole hour earlier than normal, for a council meeting. I definitely did not have the energy for it.

"Wakey-wakey," said Sorla, poking my arm. "Ugh," I groaned, finally lifting up my head and yawning.

I rubbed my eyes, glancing over at clock. "Oh, crap, we have ten minutes before school starts!" I exclaimed, grabbing my stuff. "Yep, that's why we woke you up. I put all the files away, too," Sorla called, leaving the council room.

"Thanks, you're the best!" I shouted back. I heard a faint 'I know' somewhere down the hall. I rubbed the remaining sleep out of my eyes, and grabbed my bag, turned off the light before leaving. Just as I walked out, I ran into my least favorite person.

Hanma Shuji.

He was standing in the middle of a circle of students. You could tell it was him by the glint of his one earring. I walked closer to see what was happening, and saw another student in the middle of the circle, except he was all beat up.

Of course. Hanma shows up for one day and not even ten minutes in he beats someone up. I sighed, rolling my eyes. It's too early for this.

"Okay, you guys, get to class!" I shouted. "Oh, hey, Pres!" "Good morning, Pres!" "Y/N!" "Oh my goodness, y'all, she said go to class!!" I smiled a thank you at the girl who yelled that. The circle slowly broke away, as everyone headed to where they were supposed to be.

I approached Hanma, who was still standing there, hands in pocket, staring at me. "And you. You never come to school, but the one day you decide to bless us with your presence, you beat some kid up? What's your problem?"

He smiled slowly, which irritated me even more, since he didn't seem to take this seriously.

"Well good morning to you too, Pres."

"Shut up. Don't give me that bs-" "OoooOOoo~ did you just cuss?" He teased. "I don't have time for all this." Hanma shrugged, "Okay, but you have time to go fight in gangs, miss Dragonfly?" I gasped, looking around to make sure no one heard that. "Don't call me that here!" I whisper yelled. "What happens if I do?" he smiled, tilting his head. "Hanma, I swear." He chuckled, turning around, "Don't worry, I won't. I have no problem with you."

I rolled my eyes, "Take that kid to the nurses office." He hummed in thought, looking at the student. "Nah, he can just stay here. He pissed me off anyways." "Hanma, you can't just beat up people who piss you off."

"I don't see why not," he said, so seriously, shrugging again.

I shook my head. "Are you going to listen to me or wait for a teacher to see this and give you detention?" Just as he leaned down to pick up the kid, a teacher rounded the corner. "Hanma Shuji, you have detention for two days!!"

"I heard theres no extra teachers to watch detention, though," asked a student passing by. "Yes, that is true," the teacher paused to think for a second, his eyes landing on me, "well, I just found a solution for that. The student council will watch over him." "HUH?!" I exclaimed. "Is that a problem, Miss L/N? You are responsible enough to handle this, are you not?" I nodded, looking down, as the teacher left.

Hanma lifted my chin up with his finger. "Come on now, don't look so upset. You get to spend more time with me, after all."

I made a face of disgust, stepping away from him and turning around, heading to my own class. I can't believe him. He can't just do whatever he wants to. But oh well, I don't even care anymore. Sike, I wish I could say that, but it's kinda also my job to make sure everything goes smoothly in this school too.

I sighed, dropping my books down at my desk. "Y/N!!!" Mikey shouted happily, running up to me. "Y/N!!!" This time, it was Baji who shouted, sounding not so happy. "Yes?" "Nothing, I just wanted to say hi," Mikey said, waving. I waved back, as Baji approached my desk. "And I wanted to ask if I could see your homework from yesterday." "Baji, i'm not even in that class." He groaned, leaning onto the desk next to me.

We talked for a while before the bell rang, and they went back to their class. Our teacher, Miss Kimi walked in and everyone returned to their desks. "Good morning, you guys. Today we're gonna do a partner project, so go pick your partners."

I mentally screamed. I don't really know anyone in this class. I scanned the room. There's only one other person in this class who I slightly know. He doesn't seem to have a partner either.
