⚠️TW: violence, blood

The designer welcomed the two of us and lead us to his showroom. We were presented a few designs and stuff that they'd say would 'compliment our eyes' or 'make our features stand out'. We tried on many pieces but after about three hours of talking about styles and shades we got tired and just went with the ones we've liked most so far.

The clothes matched, of course. Mine was a long dark red dress that reached the ankles and had a side slit and was strapless. It had matching dark red sleeves that went above my elbows.

Ran wore a white suit with a dark red shirt underneath. The stylist found us masks and accessories that went with our clothes. Ran was super tired from the day, so he hurried up the process along the way and before we knew it, we had left that place and we're heading outside.

"I'm exhausted." "It's only noon," I sighed, when we got in the car. "We got this. What do you want for lunch?" I shrugged, "I don't know. What do you want?" We ended up deciding on pizza since it was the most simple and basic things our minds could think of. "My legs hurt so bad from all this walking," Ran complained. "Same. It's too hot outside," I yawned. "We should just take a nap, honestly."

It was time for the party.

"You look nice," Ran smiled at me. "Thanks, you too." He looked very nice. Very hot too. But I'm going to tell him that. His hair had been put into a low bun, with a few strands out, and it looked so good. Not to mention how fine he looked in a suit. I pulled my eyes away, as he hooked an arm through mine and we walked down the hall towards the ballroom.

"Y/N, I want you to be very careful, okay? They may be business partners but they're still involved with the underground. Everyone here is. Stay next to me the whole time. We're going to be making a public appearance too, so they'll know you're associated with the Haitani's." I nodded, "Alright." "Sorry they're putting you in a dangerous situation like this." "It's no problem. It's just one night, and you're here too, so it's fine."

Ran stopped his walk, and looked over at me. I stared at his purple eyes in confusion. "What?" "Don't be all formal with me. It feels awkward." "Okay, then." I cleared my throat before starting my rant, "I feel so scared right now, I'm literally shaking, like, your parents and grandparents are scary to me, and they know me. I don't know anyone here, and everyone's basically a criminal, this is not a good idea we should go back Ran let's go home and read a book or something I don't want to talk to all those guests and stuff."

He chuckled, "I knew it." Ran put a hand on top of my head, and leaned down. It seemed like he was going to kiss my forehead, but stopped. "Sorry. I keep forgetting we're not-" We stood there awkwardly for a bit.

"Anyways, it'll be okay. I wanna go back home too. But Ill be right next to you the whole time, okay? And Rindous going to be blended in somewhere with the guests. He'll keep an eye on us as well." I nodded, staring at the ground. He lifted my face with his finger to look him in the eyes. "We'll get some strawberry pastries after, okay?" My face lit up. Ran smiled at my reaction.

He has such pretty eyes. They're such a nice amethyst color, and have a beautiful sparkle to them. They're gorgeous. He's gorgeous.

We walked into the room. The ceiling reached really high. The dance floor was in the middle, and round tables outlined the sides. There was a huge carpeted flight of stairs in the middle, which led to the balcony on the second floor which overlooked us. Rindou was there, somewhere. Multiple crystal chandeliers hung in the dimly lit room. I shivered slightly. The place was cold, and the floors were a cold marble as well. Curtains hung around the room, which matched the carpets.
