"It's pretty cold out there" Ava stood at the nurses station with him, wearing a Mayo Clinic sports jacket.
"Yeah, I wore my snow boots this morning" Connor said.
"Do you think it'll snow?" She looked to the Ed entrance.
"No, it's too cold" he shook his head.
"It's more so I wouldn't slip on the ice"
Ava nodded, "I drove, I don't think I could had handled the cold"

Connor picked up some forms that had been sent for him from a Hybrid OR donor.
"What's this another love letter from one of your donors?" Ava read over his shoulder.
"Yes they want to know how soon I can move in" he played along.
"Must be terribly hard to have so many suiters" Ava winced.

"Ah Dr. Bekker and Dr. Rhodes!" Came a call from behind them.
'Mr. Harris" Ava nodded.
"Good to see you two together"
"I believe you have a visitor" Mr. Harris said, leaning in his walking stick as a man stepped on from behind him.
"Dr. Lathem!" Ava beamed, throwing her arms around him.
"Ava, it's good to see you" he touched her back.
"Dr. Rhodes" he shook Connors hand.
"It's good to see you" Connor said.

"Yes, I am in town for a conference" Isidore said.
"Dr. Lathem was one of our candidates for the Mayo project" Mr. Harris explained.
"your facilities are excellent but I am quite happy living in Chicago" he nodded.
"Well it was good taking to you Isidore" Mr Harris's said his goodbyes.

"How have you been Isidore?" Ava asked.
"Well Ava, thank you for asking"
"And you?"
"I'm great" she nodded.
"Connor and I are great"
"We are, are you in town for long?" Connor asked.
"I drove here last night, I'll be here for the long weekend"
"Well we'll have to meet up for coffee" Ava suggested.

People ran past her through the hall.
"What's happening?" Ava stopped a student.
"Big car crash coming in! Five minutes out"
Connor and Ava looked to each other, "we'll catch up later, Dr. Latham!"

Connor and Ava finished up on their second and third surgeries of the day, and at lest the fourth coffee of the day.

Ava left herself into his office at the end of the day, stretching her arms over her head.
"I'm so tried" she rolled her shoulders.
"Come to join me?" He asked.
"Yes, you" she opened his desk draw.
"Not kosher, not kosher, kosher!" She picked up a Kit Kat, leaning back against his desk.
"That's why you're in here" he touched her thigh.
"Oh well I can leave if it's really that bad" she moved to sit up.
"No, no"
Ava smirked, breaking her Kit Kat in half for him.

"Shall we go back to the hotel?" He suggested, eating his bar.
"Dr. Rhodes, It's not a Thursday or a Saturday" Ava titled her head, pretending to be shocked.
"Well I've never been one for following the rules have I?" He kissed her.

Connor got the door open and Ava pushed him in, pulling off her scrub top.
Connor caught her wrists in his hands, wrapping a silky tie around them. Ava moved to touch him, her wrist caught together. She looked at him in annoyance of being caught, a smirk on her lips. Connor guided her to the bed, making sure she wouldn't trip as she laid back on top of the covers. Connor devoured her neck and collarbone as she threw her head back.
She brushed her fingers up his side. "Connor"

Their was a sharp knock on the door and they both sat up, frozen like deer in headlights. Ava quickly pulled her wrists apart, undoing the slip knot as Connor scrambled off the bed.
"Dr. Lathem" Ava said loudly, smiling wildly. "It's so lovely to see you again, come in"
She fixed the neckline of her scrub set she'd thrown.
"It's good to see you again, Ava" he nodded as they entered her room.
"I stayed to assist in the car crash as much as I could, but I was unable to find you nor doctor Rhodes after"
"Yes, we were both pulling into separate surgeries"
"Of course, well I was just hoping to speak to you in private" he stood at the foot of her bed.
"If you could just retrieve Dr. Rhodes from whatever bathroom or closet you've stashed him in"
