With Ava's help Brooklyn and her brothers had cooked a feast for the breakfast, feeding well over twenty people that were staying in the house and surrounding lodges. With an exteded kitchen table they all sat down for breakfast, Claire joining her brothers side.
Ava had a plate of veg sausages, toast and a fried egg. Eating away and chatting to the bride,
Bob sat next to Claire, shaking her hand. "Its great to meet you, thanks for coming"
"Thank you for having me" she smiled.
"So Connor was telling me you run the family business?"
"Yes, Dolan and Rhodes"
"God your parents must be so proud between the two of you"
Brooklyn shot him a look from across the table. "Sorry, I didn't mean"
"Oh Theo!" He turned to him, "You used to work for the Rhodes legal team didn't you?" Bob smiled. He swallowed his breakfast and looked awkwardly between the two, "Yes quite a while ago" he confirmed.
"Really!" Claire leaned bag in her chair. "My little old fashion company"
"I wouldn't say that, Theo mentioned you were, what top ten most lucrative business in America?"
Claire smiled at Theo across the table. A fake over the top press photo smile.
"I might have kept an eye on stock price" he said into his glass. They all relaxed by the lake in the afternoon. Ava laid on her stomach reading a book, Connor laid next to her in the sand, his hand on the back of thigh.
His hand traced shapes across her skin before hooking a finger under the hip for her bikini.
Ava looked to him, putting her book down. "Mhm-mhm-mhm" she hummed, pushing his hand back. Ava sat back on her ankles, she touched his cheek. Connor sat up, kissing her gently. "I love you" she kissed his neck.Connor looked around the beach carefully, "go back to the house?"
Ava smiled coyly before nodding. She packed her things up and threw on a beach cover up.
"Claire!" Ava called from a few meters away.
"Connor and I are going to head back"
Claire nodded before looking up once again and straightening out. They left the beach and she stayed till the rest packed up. Knowing full well why they'd gone back.
She looked to her left, in the short distance watching Theo and Patrick in an intense beach Volleyball match. She exhaled shortly, she'd seen enough of that man for today. The sun set on the night before the wedding and Ava changed for the evening. Pulling her hair back she tied it off, spotting someone in the back garden.
Brookie's stood in her pyjamas and robe. Ava tiptoed out to her, as she stood barefoot in the grass.
"Are you okey?"
She turned to her, "yeah, I'm fine. I just hope it doesn't rain"
"In August? It won't" she assured her.
Brooklyn turned back to the partly set up wedding venue in their backyard.
"It will all be okey" Ava wrapped her arm around her neck, leaning her head on her shoulder.
"I know" she said softly, nodding her head. She turned back and Ava fell away from her, "do you think he can see me down here?"
"Bob? No, his room isn't facing his way"
"Okey" she stood a deep breath.
"Night cap?"
"Night cap"Ava opened a small bottle of champagne and some orange juice for them.
"Mazel tov" they clinked their glasses.
Brooklyn gulped down her drink. Cuddling into Ava's side.
"I love you soo much Bekky" she closed her eyes.
"I love you too" she rubbed her shoulder, sipping her own drink.
Footsteps came down the hall to the kitchen and Ava perked her head up.
"The bride is here, we warned" she called out.
"No problems with me seeing the bride before the wedding, is there?"
"Hey" Ava smiled, and Connor leaned down to kiss her.
"Do you want one?" She held up her glass.
"Sure, why not?" Connor poured his glass, going to join them."Do you want to sit here?" Brooklyn said.
"No, I'm alright" he sat in an armchair across from them.
"Good, I don't want to movie" she sipped her drink.
"Wedding jitters" Ava mouthed, touching her hair.
Connor nodded knowingly.Brooklyn sat up, "this wedding rule this is stupid"
"This of all nights I should see Bob" she set her empty glass down.
"I mean you can, technically" Ava shrugged.
"We're doctors and it's a superstition" she rubbed her eyes. "I have to"
Ava too her hand in hers, "c'mon"
Brooklyn tired to muster up a smile. "Okey" Ava sat up. "He can't see you before the wedding I don't see why you can't speak"
"Through a door, of course" Ava added.
She scrunched up her noise, mulling the idea over in her mind.
