Chaoter 34- The Hybrid

Ava rolled over to Connors side of the bed, kissing him softly.
"Mhm" he hummed, his eyes still closed.
She moved onto his neck, and his collarbone.
"Good Morning" she smiled, kissing him once on the lips.
"Morning" he breathed, "want to wake me up this way every morning?"
"It's hybrid day" she reminded him.
"Mhm" he pulled back, "there's other things I'm more interested in right now"

"Come on, get up" she climbed off him, pushing her hair out of her face.
"Avery" he whined, opening his eyes. "Come back to bed!"
"Get up! You need to get ready" she called from the bathroom, starting the water in the shower.
"Or you could come join me?" She called, slipping off her pyjamas.
Arms came around her waist, lips on her neck.
"I love you" he kissed her neck, pulling her shirt over her head.

"You have your suit?" Ava packed up her bag for the day.
"Yeah, in the bag"
"You?"
"My blouse and skirt are in the other dust bag"
Connor took them, throwing them over his shoulder.
"Let's go" he wrapped an arm around her waist.

They were unveiling the new Hybrid OR this afternoon, with a ceremony including Connor, Ava, their donors and the press. Connor drove them, hanging up their spare change of clothes in the backseat.
He left their clothes to their offices, handing them up for later. He did his rounds and met with Owen, discussing their lasted workout sessions. Owen congratulating him on his accomplishments.

Connor went back to his office to change, fixing his hair.
He checked his watch, she had ten minutes to meet him. She was running late, for Ava at lest.
He made his way down to her office, knocking on her door before entering.
Ava was sat in a desk chair, Ini stood behind her with a curling wand, fixing the ends of her hair.
"Does my hair look okey?" Ava asked, touching the ends. "I had a surgery, had to redo it"
"Your hair looks fine"
"Fine?" Ini raised her brow, "a lot of work when into this hair"
Connor took her face in his hands, "Your hair looks beautiful and I love you very much"

Her Hair was smooth and perfectly placed, her ends curled away from her face.
She slipped her heels on and Connor held her hands as she stood.
He kissed her forehead as to not smudge her lipstick.
Ini unplugged the curling wand and left it to cool.
"Bye" Ava kissed her cheek.
Ini watched them go together.

Connor helped Ava into the back of the taxi. She pushed her hair from her face. The opening ceremony was at a nearby park, open air with the days getting warmer.
The car pulled to a stop and Connor opened the door for Ava.
"Always the gentleman" she took his hand.
They walked to the event, where press were already gathering.
Connor touched her back as they went up the steps. Dropping his hand a moment later.
They took their seats next to each other and Ava crossed her ankles.

They stood as Mr. Harris arrived, shaking his hand. Greeting the donors Connor had gathered. Taking their seats as the ceremony began.
"We are horned to open the very first Hybrid OR in Minnesota. The second in the country. A project of Dr. Rhodes, and Dr. Bekker's design"
"Two excellent surgeons we are lucky to have here at Mayo" 
"Well without further ado" Mr. Harris smiled. "I am horned to be the one the open Mayo's Hybrid OR"

Everyone stood and clapped, gathering for press photos.
Connor wrapped his arm around her waist and Ava leaned into him.
"You look beautiful" he said.
Ava smirked and looked away.

A/n: hey 😗 so I figured I'd just publish these three chapters back to back, as their all quite short and are more just for the pacing of the chapters and to develop the sub plots.
