Connor let himself into the apartment, leaving his work early to take some peace at home. Finishing his paper work there. He showered in the en-suite bathroom in Ava's absence. Making sure he left things as they were. He dried off and changed, putting his wet towel in the launders hamper. Moving to empty the basket he heard the front door unlatch.
Two sets of heels entered and he froze.

Ava set her keys down on the table and ran her hand through her hair.,
"Are you growing a green house in here" Ini said. Looking around the room.
"What?" Ava looked around, "oh right, it's Connor" she sighed.
"Did he have a funeral?"
"No, I always like chrysanthemums"
"He gets them every morning"
She paused, "I think it's his way of saying sorry"

"I just need to grab my purse, and we can get going. It's in my room"
Connor shrunk back into the corner, she was coming into the room.
"Isn't this is here"
Ava's stopped just outside the door, turning away from him.
"Yeah, thanks" Connor heard her shuffle through it on the counter.

"How are things between you two?"
Ava pursed her lips, "i don't know"
She walked towards Ini.
"Do you still love him?"
The door closed loudly and Connor stumbled out of the bedroom. The door closing behind them before he could hear Ava's answer.
He stood there for a moment. He'd missed it, what would be her reply. Why would Ini question it, had she said something to her, were they over?

Ava was hiding in her office with her rice bowl. Ini having the day off. They'd gone for drinks after shift the night before, putting Ava's mind at ease. She took a sip of her drink. Her phone buzzing in her desk.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Ava. I'm Alison"
"Uh, Alison?"
"Moore. Patrick's ex wife"
"Oh" Ava said in quite a high pitched tone.
"I hear you and him had a nice time in New York together"
"Allison were not-"
"I know Ava. We are still friends despite having separated, and I appreciate you taking care of Lee. She speaks very highly of you"
"This is a courtesy call. I work in journalism and some pictures came across my desk for an article on the fundraiser you attended, with Patrick. He has made me aware of the somewhat, strained, relationship between you and Connor Rhdoes. He insisted given the circumstances that you be given a heads up"
"God, are the images really that awful"
"Quite the opposite, the dress you wore- the black number. It's already being Referred  to as your revenge dress"
Ava pursed her lips.
"Send me a copy of them if you can, and I'll approve what I think is okey" she out the phone down, putting another gyoza in her mouth.

Ava took her bag at the end of shift. She drove the long way home, stopping to get a decaf iced coffee. She played over the idea of these photos in her mind as she went. Patrick was clearly okey with it. It was all up to her.
She walked through the halls of the apartment in silence, letting herself in she dropped her bag. "Hey" she pursed her lips. Spotting him in the kitchen.
He glanced to her, "hi" before looking back down.
"Your dinners in the oven" he said, before turning back to his office.
She wasn't hungry, she sighed, sipping off her shoes to put her jacket away and went straight to her room. She closed the door behind her, changing into a hoodie and shorts she sat on the bed, opening her laptop.

The first image was of Patrick helping Ava out of the car, her hand in his.
The it was them walking into the venue, hands still together.
There were several of them having dinner, chatting around the event.
The last was the best, Patrick's hand hung low on Ava's hip as he stood at her side , covering the top of the slit on her dress. Their faces close together as they leaned into each other, Ava sported a sly smile. She looked back between the door and her desktop, before right clicking the imagines and typing a short email.
