Ava and Connor both worked out before they met, becoming a routine for them to go to the gym together. Or miss the odd session when Ava was on her period to watch a movie instead.

It became easy for them to work out with the addition of the gym in their building. Ava still went to the pool by herself often, usually when her shift ended before Connor, going in her free time and getting the train back home to meet him.

The gym was fairly empty at this hour, most residents in work with Ava and Connor's late start today. They'd allowed themselves to stay in bed, getting to their workout a little later.
Connor dropped his barbell, taking off his headphones and put his weight down.
"You okey" he asked, walking over to her.
"Yeah, I'm done with this set" she said, exhaling heavily, leaving her barbell on her thighs.
"Yeah" he leaned over her, "you can do one more" he kissed her cheek.
Connor spotted her and she thrust up with her hips.
Ava ran her hand through her hair.
"I hate you" she breathed. Connor rolled the barbell off her thighs.
"Come here" he helped her up.
Ava threw a towel over her shoulder, pushing her hair back.
She leaned into him, touching his face.
"Shower?" She kissed his neck.

"Let's stay in bed"
"We have a meeting" he reminded her.
"Let's stay in bed" she rolled onto him, kissing his neck.
"Mhm" he kissed her back.
"You know what I'd like?" He whisper in her ear.
"What?" She smirked.
He kissed her slowly, "for you to get dressed"
Ava rolled her eyes and moved off him.

They got ready for work together. Ava dressing in jeans and a blazer, picking up her bag before she left. They had plans to get an early dinner after this meeting. Most likely with Ini and Owen. Connor drove them to the hospital, his hand on her knee. They stepped out of the car and made their way to the board room.
"Are people looking at us?" She whispered.
"No" he lied, having noticed it.
"Is it because of last night?"
"Maybe" Connor pursed her lips.
The lift doors closed behind them.
"Oh god. Everyone's judging us" she cringed.
"Since when did you care"
"I don't know, this is just different" she huffed.
"Come here" he wrapped an arm around her.
"Russel told everyone, no one else would have known"
"We just have this meeting to get through, then we'll to dinner and forgot about it all"
"Okey" Ava agreed, kissing him once before the doors opened.

Ava took off her blazer as they sat down on the board room. Setting her bag on the floor beside her. Connor kept his hand on her thigh, drawing circles on her knee as the meeting progressed, keeping an eye on the empty chair at the table.

They collected their stuff and left the meeting with Owen and Ini. Parting ways with them at the lifts before dinner.
"Dr. Bekker! Mr. Harris stopped her. Coming up the hall.
"I've been trying to find you all day. I couldn't attend todays meeting"
"I brought you a copy" he handed her a magazine.

Forbes Forty under Forty

"I had intended to tell you at the last nights dinner. But Dr. Spencer had other ideas"
"Well let's not dwell on the past. The article will be out in a few weeks, with there latest addition"
"I am aware you turn thirty-thrifty years young in a few weeks. But you are still the youngest on the list. Quite impressive Dr. Bekker, you continue to outdo yourself"
"Thank you Mr. Harris" she said slowly.
"I hadn't heard, I didn't know I was up for it"
"They contacted me about it. I approved it. They'd like to interview you, just about a few things. Noting to heavy. I hope you'll agree to do it"
"Of, of course Mr. Harris" she smiled. "Its an honour"

He left them with the copy of the paper.
Connor wrapped his arms around her. "I'm so proud of you"
"My Girl"
