A DUO DATE = A, DO I DATE?,
a/n: Olivia Rodrigo's - can't catch me now, is so Regulus/Sirius coded. Haven't stopped listening to it thinking about them.

"They're really not coming, are they?" I turned towards Sirius. He simply laughed.

"I told you so." He shrugged, hands shoved deeply in his jacket pockets.

We stood and waited at the entrance of Hogsmeade for about ten minutes, just in case. Sirius sat on the cobbled stone wall and I leant upon it. Both staring out at the path waiting for any sign of Dorcas and Remus.

He kicked himself off of the wall and faced in the opposite direction to the empty and frosty path.

"I'm not too bad, am I?" He chuckled.
"Screw them."

I wobbled my hand, sideways, to suggest he was on a fine line. That I was leaning towards disagreeing with the rhetorical question. The smile upon my face suggested I agreed, however.

We began walking, Sirius kept close. Occasionally bumping shoulders, accidentally with the sway in his walk.

"She's rebelling." I said.

"Who?"

"Dorcas. By not coming. Some sort of statement, we think."

"We?"

"Me and the girls."

Sirius smirked. Raising an eyebrow. I looked at him questioningly, elbowing his side lightly as we walked to prompt to continue.

"It's not exactly rebellious to want a first date without the best mates interrupting. Rebellious would be to snog the whole time in front of us, as if we didn't exist." He stated.

Rationally, I knew that was true and that perhaps Sirius being an outsider to my group meant he was providing an unbiased and valuable perspective.

I also had the awareness that really what was going on was that I felt Dorcas wasn't viewing my protective nature in the way I was intending.

She was seeing it as judgement, I was seeing it as respect towards her.

Typical Hufflepuff vs Slytherin misunderstanding.

Rationally, I also knew that Remus was probably of no threat whatsoever. He was a quiet and studious boy who did appear very kind, though on the selective side. There was just something that was sitting uncomfortably with me, and with much deep thought and consideration for Dorcas' benefit, it didn't feel entirely down to his perceivable and witnessed anger. For that I could understand greatly, especially as my own issues and use of Madam Pomfreys potions weren't subsiding.

Perhaps it was healthy to slam a door here and there and express frustration outside of words. That energy was hibernating within myself, though I couldn't quite tap into it yet.
