A RETELLING OF CHAPTER ONE, 29th September 5:21 am, Sirius' retelling,
(If you need a reminder, please reread chapter one. This is directly copied and adjusted due to recent events.) ———
The hospital wing doors suddenly flew open, this time with more strength. Another victim of injury stumbled in whilst being supported by someone unscathed.
Sirius Black strongly held the majority of Remus Lupin's weight as they both entered the room.
Remus was also covered in similar gory gashes, with dirty hands and joints; much like Grace. The difference being that he was conscious and able to stand and speak out for help himself.
"Poppy..." he lightly groaned, only loud enough for Sirius to hear, before stopping to process and respond to the scene that unfolded in front of both Sirius and himself.
Sirius glanced up at the weak nudge from his friend, signalling something was different from every other full moon.
Regulus, his brother, was stood panting beside the closest hospital bed open for everyone to see.
He wore a pale look upon his face, paler than usual. His hands, bloody and covered in smudged soil, shook violently and visibly. His eyes were wide, lingering upon Sirius for a second longer than usual, with a look in his eye that almost looked like a desperate plead for help or a hug, before he blinked it away.
Everyone locked eyes with each other, the door slamming shut and assuring both Sirius and Remus were given the attention they looked for.
All glanced at and between one another and the body that rested horrifically slack on the hospital bed.
Sirius' face fell into an expression of confused horror; puzzle pieces attempting to fit together at the close similarities between the casualties of Remus and the girl in the bed.
Remus had been watched all night. Sirius was sure this wasn't of Remus' doing. But Remus wasn't as convinced. Especially not after the prank. His arm, that was draped around Sirius' shoulders, fell limply, making him lose a couple of inches in height as he struggled to stand upright alone.
"No, Moony- this isn't," Sirius' soft voice to Remus was cut off.
"I deserve to be shot." Remus sighed in pain, creating a pained distance between him and Sirius and trying to get out of direct eyesight of the girl.
"No Remus this wasn't ..." but Sirius did think her injuries looked like Remus' body when he first started tearing himself apart in fourth year. A sight he still had nightmares about. Memories rushing back to him, making it difficult for Sirius to act upon anything so instead he did nothing. The words died in his mouth. His eyes could simply stare. His body stood hauntingly still in front of the doors. The feeling of Remus' weight still lingering on his skin like a ghost.
