Chapter 48

Y/n's POV

"Jellal." Papa growled, looking up at him.

"Well hello, I take it that your memory has finally returned." Zero said, looking back at Jellal.

"Yes." Jellal said. I slid down the slight curve that the room had stopped next to papa. I offered him my hand to help him up, but he refused and pushed my hand away. "You shouldn't have come here." Papa said. 

"I agree." I said, looking away from him. Papa got up and rushed towards Jellal, clearly ready to pick a fight with him. "Jellal!" Papa shouted. 

"Stop." Jellal said, setting papa on fire. Papa knocked the flames away from himself since he wasn't affected by them. "Did you forget flames don't work on me? Papa asked. 

"I did briefly, but I remembered just in time. Only you two can stop Zero." Jellal said.

"What?" Zero asked, looking at Jellal. I looked at him, completely stunned that he said papa and I could defeat Zero. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but as a fire dragon slayer, doesn't the power of flame amplify your magic?" Jellal asked.

"That's true, but why are..." Papa started.

"Judging by your actions, your memory has not been restored." Zero said, clearly not believing Jellal.

"I didn't lie to you, only my memories of Natsu and Y/n have returned. I'm determined to stop Nirvana whether the rest of my memories return will not affect my goal." Jellal said. I looked at Jellal's eyes and saw that he truly had no intention of helping Zero and doing what he could to stop Nirvana. "I don't get it. What happened to ya?" Papa asked.

"Who cares? He's a friend now." I said. Jellal started explaining what had happened to him since he had awoken after Wendy healed him. "It's time to make amends for all the harm I've caused to you, Erza, Y/n, and all of Fairy Tail. I want to help protect Wendy's guild. I want to stop Nirvana. I know we can do it so long as we work together." Jellal said. Papa rushed forward and punched Jellal in the face. "I don't believe you. You're saying you forgot everything you did to us? Quit pretending to be on our side or you'll pay!" Papa shouted. 

"Papa! Stop!" I shouted. Papa looked at me, clearly upset about me stopping him from kicking Jellal's butt. "Please accept the flames I gave you and move on." Jellal begged. Papa picked Jellal up and shouted at him about the things he caused. "If you must argue, would you kindly not do it in front of me!" Zero said, firing a spell off towards them. I rushed over and threw Zero over my shoulder, hitting his back against the ground. The spell didn't change directions like I was hoping before the smoke cleared and Jellal was the one who was hit by the spell. "Jellal? " I asked, looking at him. Jellal was shaking from the attack as he looked down at me. He collapsed to the floor before Papa asked why he protected him. "Just go ahead and kill me if that's what you have to do. I'm already torn to shreds, but first let me give you the power you need to defeat him." Jellal said, holding his hand up summoning a golden flame. 

The flame was beautiful as I stared at it in is hand. "This is the flame of Rebuke." Jellal said, as he laid down on the ground. I growled as I grit my teeth as my anger began to boil over. "What's the Flame of Rebuke?" Papa asked.

"I'm not asking for either of you to grant me your forgiveness. All I want is to give you strength because I believe in you. Erza trusts the two of you more than anyone and so I shall as well." Jellal said. Papa shook Jellal's hand as the golden flame wrapped around him before he consumed it. "Jellal! You better stay alive!" I shouted, as I looked down at Zero. Jellal passed out as papa stood up facing Zero. "Thanks for the chow. This doesn't mean you're off the hook Jellal, not yet." Papa said. 

"You've both made a grave mistake. By eating the Flame of Rebuke you now share the sins of your mortal enemy." Zero said, getting up and dusting himself off. 

"A few sins aren't going to scare me. Everyone in Fairy Tail has their share." Papa said.

"The real sin is turning your back on someone when they just want to help. Espically after they give you the power to fight evil!" Papa shouted. I gather all my strength as I stepped towards Zero while papa rushed at him. We hit him at the same time knocking Zero back a bit. Papa grabbed him and threw him into a wall before I rushed up as Zero fired his spell at me. I could tell he was aiming to take both of us out before I surrounded my fist in water and punched his spell stopping it in it's tracks. Papa rushed towards us before throwing a barrage of fists at Zero landing each one before kicking him in the stomach. Zero punched papa in the face pushing him down before papa fired a Roar at him with point blank range. While Zero flew into the air I jumped up and did the same launching him back into the ground. 

"It's time you pay!" I shouted, as my shout errupted into a roar. I stood next to papa as his flames and my water started swirling around us. "Aw man it's liek when we ate all that Etherion. Awesome, do you feel like your strength has double or almost tripled?" Papa asked. 

"Yeah, it's amazing. I wonder what's causing this?" I asked.

"I never thought you'd both have it. The Dragon Force is the final form of Dragon Slayer magic. From what I understand, it gives the slayer destructive power comparable to that of the most formidable dragon. I'm intrigued, so show me. Come both of you, let our fight continue." Zero said, before smiling. 

"You sure about this?" I asked.

"Yeah? This might be more than you can chew." Papa added. 

"Yes, let's see the dragon's power." Zero said.

"We warned you." Papa and I said, rushing towards Zero. We struck a barrier in front of Zero as our fight started again. We clashed a couple mroe times with the barrier before Zero used a gravity spell and made us fall through the floor. "Yikes, that was too close. Y/n you okay?" Papa asked.

"Yeah, let's get back up there." I said. We looked up as Zero came falling down towards us. He fired off his spells again forcing us to dodge. He used the piecing spell that he used against Jura like a whip forcing papa top dodge. I rushed in front behind and kicked him towards papa. Papa blasted Zero with a Fire Dragon Roar before rushing towards papa again. "Stop ignoring me!" I shouted, kicking Zero into a wall before his fired off more spells at us. Papa and I were forced to dodge each one individually. The last spell hit us as we absorbed the blow before looking at Zero. He fired another spell at us knocking us into the air. Papa flew into a wall while I used the water in the air to slow myself down a bit before launching myself towards Zero as he fired another round of spells. I easily dodged them before papa came flying out of the wall as the two of us hit Zero easily knocking him back some. Papa and I ended up on the ground a little exhausted as Zero kicked both of us repeatedly. Talking about how Dragon used to rule the world before saying that a dragon's power was weak. 

I took a deep breath, as I prayed for Kaida to give me more strength. "You two can not defeat the master of the Ocian Seis. I am more powerful than a lowly guild wizard like you two could ever hope to be." Zero said. I balled my hand into a fist before hitting the floor cracking it and part of the wall before sitting up. "It's a shame your friends aren't here to help you, because neither of you stand a chance against me." Zero said. Papa and I got onto our hands and knees. "We're not alone." I said.

"Everyone's reaching out to us." Papa added.

"We can hear them, loud and clear." I continued

"I hear everyone's voices and they're telling me that no matter what." Papa said.

"We can't give up this fight. They're what's keeping us going." I said.

They're the only reason that we're still standing right now." Papa said. I felt a new energy enter my body as I took a deep breath taking in some water which gave me some of my magic back. Papa's flames returned as the moisture in the air began to shake making the air shake. "They're so strong, I can feel our friends determination. Our strength is puslating through us." Papa said.

"If there was some way, if I could harness the power of your dragon force for myself. Unfortunately, that's not possible. Since I have no use for either of you I'm going to use my ultimate spell and return both of you until there's nothing from whence you came." Zero said. 

"Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Crimson Lotus: Exploding Flame Blade!" Papa shouted. 

"Water Dragon Secret Art: Calm Waters: Scalding Blade!" I shouted. Papa and I rushed towards with our blades of fire and water as Zero fired his spell at us.
