Y/n's POV
After Michelle arrived, she started working in the guild, helping auntie Mira and Kinana with serving drinks around to the guild members who ordered them. She's even helped Celestia with her hair a few times. Although she was quite clumsy since she dropped food quite frequently, luckily when I was there I managed to stop it a few times. Eventually, dad finally found a job he wanted to go on which was dealing with some bandits. "Bout time slowpoke!" Dad called, looking at mom through the doorway.
"We've been waiting for you." Happy added.
"May I come along? I'd love to watch you work." Michelle asked. Mom got the request flyer from dad before taking a look at it. "Um, I'm not sure that's such a good idea." Mom answered.
"But I'd love to see what wizards do first hand and you'll be there to protect me." Michelle said.
"Yeah, she'll be fine." Dad said.
"Come on, Lucy, there's nothing more fun than watching this team put the hurt on some thugs." Happy commented.
"And we guarantee satisfaction." Gray said.
"Master, would you please talk some sense into them." Mom begged, looking at Gramps.
"May I please go?" Michelle asked.
"You bet." Gramps answered, giving her a peace sign.
"Go for it!" Asuka cheered.
"Guess it's settled." Bisca said.
"Any objections, master Macao?" Alzack asked, looking at Macao.
"I still think it's weird that Macao is the guild master, technically." I said, looking at Celestia.
"Whatever, knock yourselves out!" Macao called.
"I have no objections, either. Experience isn't a bad thing, even if that experience is forced on someone too early. You know all about that, don't you, 'miss, I'm about to go on an S-Class quest without permission?'" Big sis said, walking over to Michelle. I stifled a laugh before big sis looked in my direction with a glare. "What's she talking about, Zuli?" Celestia asked, looking at me.
"N-nothing..." I lied.
"Oh yeah? Hey, Erza, would you tell me about what you're talking about?" Celestia asked. My eyes widened as I looked at big sis. "Of course." Big sis answered.
"Welcome to the team, Michelle. It might get pretty hairy, but stay by my side and you'll be just fine." Mom said. Michelle smiled as she looked at mom. "This is awesome. We're gonna make hurting down these bandits a family affair. I'm fired up!" Dad shouted.
"How about we take a job, too?" Celestia suggested.
"Yes, please. Anything to keep you away from big sis for now." I said, nodding. Celestia nodded before we headed over to take a job from the board. She picked one out, and we were going to be hunting some bandits, like dad and the others, but in a different area. We headed out just behind dad's group heading in the opposite direction. After a while, we made it to a small town where it seemed like nothing was happening. Celestia and I spent the day finding out more about the bandits who were attacking the village before tracking down their base. Between two dragon roar spells, we easily crushed all the bandits before turning them over to the royal knights. Once our mission was done, we headed back to the guild to see if the others were back. We ended up missing them as we got home late due to me being sick on the train like normal, since Celestia's spell wasn't working on me for the time being. "I'm gonna head home. I'll see you at the apartment." Celestia said, heading towards Fairy Hills. I nodded as I entered the guild hall. "Ah Y/n, welcome back. How'd the mission go?" Macao asked.
"Smooth, thanks to dad not being there to destroy everything. Everybody else already go home?" I answered. Macao nodded as I noticed Carla sitting with Macao and Wakaba. "Hey Carla, Celestia's at the apartment along with Sapphire." I said.
"Good to hear, but there's something I want to ask you. Since you've been around Lucy for longer than we have. Did you know about Michelle?" Carla asked. I thought about it for a moment, trying to think about any mention of her that mom might've said. "No, not that I recall." I answered. Carla nodded before I heard Laki walking into the room. "Thanks, we owe you one." Macao said.
"Sorry to send you on a weird errand like that." Wakaba apologized.
"Don't worry, it's not like it was a bother. According to your contact, the Lobster's were a wealthy family that had a lot of land in the Zentopia region's townships." Laki explained.
"So we were worried over nothing." Macao said.
"Hardly. There's no such thing as being too cautious these days. Still, this is quite a relief." Carla added.
"Hold your whiskers. Did you notice how Laki said they 'were' a wealthy family?" Wakaba pointed out.
"Yeah, what happened, Laki?" I asked.
"It's rough stuff. The rest of the family was lost in a tragic accident serval years ago." Laki answered.
"Man, that is rough stuff." Wakaba commented.
"I guess that makes Michelle the sole surviving member." Carla added.
"Yeah, but I don't know. Something about this seems weird about this." I said, thinking about everything going on. After that, I took Carla and headed to the apartment that Celestia and I shared before heading back to the guild the next day. "This is a first." Gramps said.
"In all my years, I don't think I've ever seen a wizard hire another wizard." Wakaba said.
"I don't see a problem with it. I'll have Mirajane make a request poster for the board." Macao said.
"What a great idea, Lucy." Auntie Mira said.
"Indeed, I look forward to seeing who takes the job." Gramps said.
"Is something wrong, Zuli?" Celestia asked, grabbing my attention.
"I'm not sure. What made you ask, though?" I asked.
"You make a face whenever you're thinking hard about something. It's almost like your face just becomes full of questions that you're trying to answer." Celestia explained.
"Oh, sorry. Hope I didn't make you worry." I said, before hearing something metal hit the ground. I turned to see the object that Michelle brought in on the ground along with Michelle before seeing the object float and spinning around. The object stood up before writing appeared on the object, going from the base to the tip. "What's with the writing? Is it some kind of ancient script?" Gray asked.
"If it is, Levy could read it." Mom said.
"She left with Shadow Gear for a job clear across Fiore. Fried is gone too." Gramps said.
"What do you think it's trying to tell us, big sister?" Michelle asked, looking at the key.
"I wish I knew." Mom answered.
"Can't you read ancient graffiti too, old man?" Dad asked, looking at Gramps.
"Listen closely, I think you should let sleeping dogs lie." Gramps warned.
"What are you talking about? I can't, I'll solve it." Mom asked. Something about Gramps' warning put me on edge as I saw mom looking at the key again. "Something's up with this object." I whispered to myself.
