Chapter 67

Y/n's POV

After traveling the reverse Anima we landed on the ground on top of dad before he jumped up and shouted about how we were back in Earthland. We all rushed over to see whether Magnolia was abck or not before spotting the city as the bells rang throughout the city. "Everyhting's back to normal!" Dad shouted.

"There's Magnolia." Mom added.

"We did it!" Happy cheered.

"Wait, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We shouldn't celebrate before we make sure everyone's okay." Big sis said.

"Yeah, wouldn't want anyone to be left behind in Edolas." I said. 

"They're just fine. We got ehre a while ago so we went and checked on them for ya." Someone said. I looked up spotting a bunch of the exceeds flying in the air. "We decided to fly through town real quick. Your friends and everyone in town are great!" Another exceed said. We were all stunned by the fact that all the exceeds were now flying in front of us. "What are they doing here? It's not right. The exceeds don't belong in Earthland. We cannot allow them to stay here. They're far too dangerous. They should return to Edolas." Carla complained. 

"Be nice." Happy said, while Wendy and him stood in front of Carla.

"Their homeland's gone, so they have no where to go. I think that we should forgive them." Wendy said.

"Never." Carla answered quickly. The exceeds started apologizing to Carla and asking for her to forgive them for what they did. "This has nothing to do with you kids. It's her! I'm angry because Extalia's queen and her lackies sent me to Earthland on a mission to kill the dragon slayers. Some of the exceeds started agreeing with Carla about how some of the kids were sent here because of what the queen said. The four elders of the exceeds stepped up next to the queen standing in front of her. "I can assure you that she had a most honorable reason to do so." One elder said.

"I remember the moment vividly. It was six years ago." The second started.

"As I mentioned before queen Shagotte has the ability to glimpse into the future. It's both a gift and a curse. One day..." The elder started. He continue talking about the time that the queen saw the vision of Earthland falling. "We now realize that Extalia was bound to fall from natural means due to the exhaustion of magic power. However at the time we believed our homeland would be detroyed by the humans." The elder continued. They continued to explain that the plan was to save the children and not send them to kill the dragon slayers. "Despite what you heard we have no ill will towards the dragon slayers whatsoever." THe elder finished.

"Don't worry we know. You just needed something to go along with the story you told them." Wendy said.

"You knew everyone would panick if the truth got out, so you had to make up something else to tell them." Mom added.

"We get it." Gray said. The queen and the elders were quiet while the queen looked ashamed of her actions and letting the lies get out of hand. "We made use of the human's Anima to successfully carry out our operation. However, something completely unexpected happened with one of the eggs. We had no idea that you, Carla, possessed an incredible power." The queen started.

"Me?" Carla asked.

"Yes, you possess the same prophetic power I do. Unfortunately you didn't have concious control over it and as a result it coulded and confused your memory. Of the one hundred exceeds we sent away only you had this gift. I suspect you began to see scattered fragments of Edolas' future. Your gift caused you to mistake that as your personal mission." The queen said.

"I was wrong." Carla said, realizing what happened.

"'Wait does that mean?" Happy started.

"The two of you were never given a mission. It was just your way of trying to make sense of all the strange thoughts and images in your head. You were sent here because we wanted to protect the next generation, nothing more." The queen said.
