Chapter 68

Y/n's POV

After we made it back to Earthland and reunited Lisanna with Auntie Mira and Elfman, everyone went and changed clothes before we headed to the guild. The guild threw a big party for the return of Lisanna, which ended up in a brawl like normal since I came to the guild. Wendy was worried about everyone getting hurt like normal while I did my best not to join in since Wendy wasn't ready for the brawls and couldn't easily defend herself from random thrown objects. After the party died down I made sure to get Wendy and myself home to our little apartment in Fairy Hills. She was basically falling asleep as we walked back so I picked her up and carried her to bed. When we got to the guild the next day Wendy went to talk with Lisanna and Carla while Mom and I sat at the bar talking with Auntie Mira. "Can you believe that? I mean I thought Cana was in Fairy Tail for life? I mean I tried to get her to tell me why, but she wouldn't say." Mom complained. Apparently Cana had gotten into Mom's house somehow and ended up telling mom she was cconsidering quitting Fairy Tail. "I wouldn't worry about it. She always talks about quitting around this time of year rolls around." Auntie Mira explained.

"Say what? Is something bad going to happen?" Mom asked, panicking a little. After that she calmed down a little while the talking and laughter from the guild ehcoed through the guild hall. "Let's get to work Happy!" Dad shouted. Happy and Dad were setting off on a job while mom turned and looked at them. "Hey! If you're going on a job take me with you!" Mom called, as they ran towards the door.

"It's solo mission season, sorry!" Dad shouted.

"We'll hang out with you when we get back!" Happy yelled. As they were running they bumped into Gray who also looked ready to go on a mission. The two of them started arguing over them bumping into each other before Happy pointed out that they should be going. Gray came over to the bar before showing auntie Mira a mission before taking off for the job. Eventually everyone was ccoming over to talk with auntie Mira about taking different missions which clearly panicked mom. I just got up before walking over to where Wendy and Lisanna were seated. "So what's my Celestia talking about over here?" I asked, hugging her from behind.

"Hey, Carla was just telling us about her power of seeing the future." Wendy explained. I looked at Carla who just nodded. "That's amazing. Who knew who'd have such an awesome ability." I said, smiling at Carla. 

"So can you tell me which guy's going to be my future husband?" Lisanna asked.

"I'm afraid I'm not able to see that far ahead, but maybe something sooner. Okay, keep an eye of Macao over there. I predict that any moment now Wakaba will walk up to him and start talking about the younger folks in the guild." Carla said, pointing towards Macao. We all turned and looked at him and waited to see if what she said would really happen. After a few second Wakaba walked over to Macao and started a conversation with him. "You were right. He walked up just like you said." Wendy said.

"Be quiet so we can hear what they're saying." Lisanna shushed. We all listened into their conversation which started going towards the younger folks in the guild before it got a little weird. We all nervously laughed before turning back to Carla. "That's so cool." Wendy said.

"Yeah, it's an amazing ability when it works properly." I said.

"Yeah, you hit the nail on the head with Macao and Wakaba. You didn't tell us it'd be so creepy though." Lisanna said. 

"Quite honestly we should've all seen that coming." Carla said. We all complimented Carla on having such an amazing ability before the sword of clashing swords rang through the guild hall. I looked over seeing big sis taking on Lily while he was maintaining his original form from Edolas. As they stepped back from crossing swords Lily transformed back into his smaller form while I looked around seeing that some people were just relaxing. Wendy and I spent some of the day talking about random things before night came and we headed home. The next day everyone was gathering in the middle of the guild after Gramps had said there was going to be a major announcement. A lot of people were excited while the tension was rising. The curtain eventually raised up revealing that Gramps, big sis, auntie Mira and Gildarts were on stage looking serious about whatever they were planning to announce. "In accordance with the Fairy Tail Guild's Time honored tradition, I will announce this year's entrance for the S class wizard promotion trial!" Gramps announced. Everyone started cheering about the announcement that Gramps made before big sis asked for everyone to quiet down. "The trial this year will take place on Tenrou Island, our guild's sacred ground." Gramps said. People were whispering and talking about where the trial was being held. "The strength that you possess inside, your character and your hearts. These are what I consider while making my selections and I have choosen nine participants. Natsu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster, Juvia Lockser, Elfman Strauss, Cana Alberona, Fried Justine, Levy McGarden, Mest Gryder, and Y/n Heartfilia!" Gramps announced.

I looked up at Gramps stunned to hear that he picked me. "Looks like my Zuli was picked to become S-Class." Wendy said, smiling at me. 

"Way to go sweetie!" Dad shouted.

"Who knew you'd get selected to potentially become an S-Class wizard." Mom said, smilinga t me.

"Thanks, but why me? I figured someone else would get to do it." I asked.

"Who cares? It's amazing." Wendy said. I nodded before Gramps had us quiet down again. "Although nine wizards have been selected only one will emerge victorious. The trial will begin in one week's time. So you better step up your preperations!" Gramps said. People were starting to place bets on who was going to come out on top. I heard Wendy asking Carla something before I looked at Carla who seemed to be panicking about something. It was clearly something that scared Carla. "For the benefit of our newcomers let's go over the rules shall we?" Gramps added. Auntie Mira stepped forward and looked at everyone. "The nine participants will choose a partner this person will also be allowed to train with them the week leading up to the trial." Auntie mira started.

"Observe these two rules when picking your partner. Number one they must be a member of Fairy Tail and number two them can't be an S-Class wizard." Big sis finished.

"We'll reveal all the particular details of the trial once we've arrived on Tenrou Island. But know that you'll have to get past Erza to claim victory." Gramps said.

"And I'll be doing my very best to weed out the rest of you right beside her." Auntie Mira added.

"Quit your belly-aching. The three of us had to go through this trial it's only fair you do too." Gildarts said.

"The nine participants I named earlier and their choosen partners are asked to meet and the port of Hargeon once week from today, so get to work." Gramps said. After the announcement most of us gathered at a table where we ate some food before talking about the trial. "They set the bar pretty high this year." Gray said.

"I'm kind of surprised none of you have been picked before." Mom said, looking at Gray.

"I'm ready for the big time, S-Class here I come!" Dad said, breathing Fire like normal.

"I know I'm the manliest man in the guild, but I'm as scared as a little girl." Elfman said.

"It sure sounds tough to me." Wendy said.

"Good luck everybody." Lisanna said. I heard Bicslow and Fied talking about them working together and them needing an S-Class wizard in the Thunder Leigon again. Mom pointed out that they might be a tough team to defeat. "Speaking of partners, do you guys know who you're going to choose yet?" Mom asked, looking at dad.

"I'm going with my little buddy of course." Dad answered, looking at Happy.

"Hey, not so fast there pinky. If this thing ends up being some kind of race having a partner who can fly would be an unfair advantage." Elfman said. Everyone else admitted that it was fine if Natsu picked Happy. "If this ends up being a battle it'll be a disadvantage." Gray said. Dad and happy took off going to train while Lisanna just smiled at him. "Zuli? You're being quieter than normal. Something on your mind?" Wendy asked, grabbing my attention.

"Sorry, just distracted I guess." I answered, thinking about who to choose.

"Can't decide on a partner?" Wendy asked. I nodded not sure if I really wanted to take Wendy with me as my partner. "Why not Sapphire? Or me?" Wendy asked.

"Would you really want to go with me?" I asked.

"Why wouldn't I? Knowing you, you'll forget all about getting hurt and just charge head first into every battle just like Natsu." Wendy answered. I looked at mom who just nodded in agreement with Wendy's answer. "Guess I do need a partner who'd keep me from losing early on. Can I count on you, Celetia?" I asked, resting my head on Wendy's shoulder.

"Always. Let's go get you training." Wendy said, moving to the side. I nearly fell over but caught myself before the two of us headed towards East Woods so we could train.
