Chapter 62

Y/n's POV

I followed after Wendy since she was taking the lead of getting us out of the castle. Once were were outside the castle Carla and Sapphire flew up behind us before lifting us off the ground. Carla lead our way to Extalia so we could talk with the exceeds leader so we could convince them about the plan we heard about. I looked up seeing Wendy fidgeting a little before Sapphire flew me up next to Wendy and Carla. "Kind of nervous?" I asked. She nodded and looked at me. "What if they don't believe us?" Wendy asked.

"They'll just have to otherwise it means death for their people. Besides you have me here. You'll do fine talking with the exceeds leader." I said. Wendy looked at me a little stunned. "You want me to talk to them? I thought you'd talk to them." Wendy asked. I smiled and nodded. "They'll trust you more since you feel more compassionate about saving their lives." I said. Wendy nodded before smiling at me. "That's it. Show them that pretty smile of yours and we'll get through this fine." I said. Wendy blushed a little before turning her focus back to Extalia. As we got close to Extalia I saw tons of exceeds which kind of shocked me. "Woah. There's so many." I said. We landed and started walking towards the castle. Wendy taking the lead again while Carla, Sapphire, and I followed behind her. The exceeds around us were making comments about Carla and pointing at her calling her a "fallen" before mentioning that we were with her. Wendy came to a stop in the middle of the crowd looking at all the exceeds. "Extalia is in serious danger. You have to let us talk with your queen right away." Wendy said. Most of the exceeds just stared at us before someone spoke up. "Please clear a path! Excuse me! Coming through!" A black and white Exceed said. Another exceed spoke up saying the exceed's name was Nadi. This exceed was taller compared to the other ones I saw gathered around us. "You cannot be here. Fallen and humans are forbidden from entering Extalia under any circumstances." Nadi said, stopping in front of us. 

I looked at him a little annoyed about him trying to stop us from saving the Exceeds and Extalia. "You'd be wise to make an exception. Just hear us out, the lives of all your citizens hang in the balance." Carla said, turning away from Nadi. 

"But how in the queens name did you escape captain Nichiya and the royal guards?" Nadi asked.

"They were turned into a lacrima by king Faust himself." Carla said. Some of the exceeds around us gasped before starting to laugh at the statement. I didn't react while I heard a small gasp from Wendy and Carla before seeing them looking around at the exceeds. "Of course they don't believe us. They've all been taught they're above humans." I thought, looking at all the exceeds around us. As I looked at the exceeds I saw that Nadi's face which had more concern on it. "There's no way those humans can beat the Extalia royal guards!" One exceed announced. 

"What a load of kitty litter." Another said.

"I'm telling the truth! The Edolas royal army is going to attack you!" Wendy cried.

"They queen will just zap those humans away using her magic." An orange furred Exceed said. 

"Like a bunch of bugs." Another exceed agreed. I looked back and Nadi who seemed to be shaking in fear of something. "I'm not kidding! You're going to get hurt if you don't evacuate right now." Wendy said. The exceeds continued to laugh at Wendy before I saw some of them picking up rocks. "You're going to get hurt." An exceed called out. He threw a rock at Wendy, I snapped my fingers as the rock stopped just before it hit Wendy. The exceeds around us were stunned before continuing to throw rocks at us. The rocks continued to be stopped short before falling at our feet because of my magic since I was using the moisture in the air to stop the rocks. The exceeds continued to ridicule us while continuing to throw rocks which I never let get near any of us. "Please! If you really hate humans so much then  do whatever you want to me, but don't hurt Carla or Sapphire. They're one of your own. Just listen to what she has to say. I'm begging you." Wendy begged. The exceeds started chatting for us to go away and leave Extalia. I was beginning to get angry as the crowd continued to throw rocks at us. Wendy eventually protected Carla and Sapphire while I continued to stop the rocks with my magic.
