Jordyn

Makayla and I walk into Defense Against The Dark Arts, completely late. There's a new teacher this year, I hear he's hot.

"Ladies," the new teacher sternly states, "you're late."

Makayla looks up at him and nearly faints. I look up as well and almost do as well. It's Gilderoy Lockhart!

He chuckles. His smile makes me feel like I'm gonna explode into candy floss. "Sit down, girls."

Makayla and I nod and quickly sit down. Holy shit, man.

Louis

Well, that was awkward. Now, back to something more interesting. Once we actually start learning after Professor Lockhart finishes his 27 monologues about himself, much like how Jordyn does when she talks about boys, I look in the corner of my eye and see Makayla staring at him in awe. She saw him for two seconds and now she's completely in love. Sometimes I wonder which one is the boy-crazy one. Jordyn or her.

Every now and then I glance around the room. Every single girl is staring at Professor Lockhart like he's their one and only true love. That's disgusting. Even Makayla is staring at him. To be honest, I haven't seen Makayla this vulnerable. It's kinda funny. If I'm totally honest, she's probably the only Slytherin girl that hasn't been in love before. I'd know. When she's happy about something, she can't stop talking about it.

That's what I prepare myself for when we go to lunch, and just like I predicted, she and Jordyn won't stop talking about Professor Lockhart. They're smiling and giggling, I think they're even blushing. Gross.

All of the men have been in peril ever since Professor Lockhart came to Hogwarts, which is kind of funny at times. They think that they don't have a chance now, but they forget that it's weird to date teachers.

"He's so hot!" Jordyn exclaims annoyingly, "I need to marry him now!"

"I don't even like him, he's just hot–" Makayla says, laughing.

"That's disgusting," Draco says, obviously in disgust.

For once, I agree with a Malfoy. That is disgusting. He isn't even that hot, I mean come on!

Makayla and Jordyn roll their eyes, continuing to eat their food. Everyone else does the same.

I wish that everything could be how it was last year. Not at the beginning, but in the last week. Makayla was actually nice, and she even talked to me willingly. I guess she forgot about that over the three months we were apart? Whatever, it shouldn't matter anyways. She is a Malfoy. I shouldn't expect her to change.

Everyone has kinda started to not care about the designated tables for each assigned house, which is why I'm not surprised when Ann walks over and sits at our table. She has a giant smile on her face. What could she possibly be smiling about?

"Have you guys met Professor Lockhart yet?" she asks enthusiastically. Of course.

All three of them (Ann, Makayla, and Jordyn) begin rambling on about the new professor. Well—I guess not all of them. Makayla does some talking, but she mainly just listens to their rambling.

Kai is almost completely done with them talking about him all day, but I'm not almost. I am done. It's so annoying! Plus, he's like, old!

Kai got annoyed and fed up with the constant rambling about our new teacher—finally—and stated, "Makayla, if you say another word about that damn Lockhart guy, I'll tell father to deal with you."

As annoying as the rambling was, Makayla wasn't talking. Originally, Makayla was just smiling and listening to Jordyn and Ann talk. Now, she isn't exactly smiling anymore.

Makayla looks down at her fingers, the other two going quiet from what Kai said, confused. I've never seen Makayla vulnerable before. After last year, she's truly changed. For better or worse.

Kai scoffs and puts his head down in pity of Makayla's silence. Then, Makayla just stands up and walks out of the Great Hall. Not like I would care, but I notice that her facial expression is obviously upset as she got up from the table.

Her walking out of the hall caused the rest of the table to spew into laughter. All except Ann, Jordyn, and I. We just sat there awkwardly.

I hear Kai joke to his friends, "She's gotten so sensitive since last Christmas, it's pathetic."

Without thinking, I get up and follow her out. I don't know why I'm following her. I could care less if she was okay. But then again, I care anyway.
