"'till all his anger took ahold of him, then he'd hit"
Jordyn
"Have you ever seen a rainbow?" Annelise asks.
Sighing, I respond, "Yes, I have, Annelise."
"They're just so pre—"
"Jordyn," Louis interrupts.
I sigh once more, "Yes?"
"I need to talk to you."
Annelise completely disappears and the confusion must be visible.
"Is something wrong?" Louis asks.
"Annelise was just here—"
"I didn't see her—"
"What did you need to ask?" I brush it off.
"Right. What happened over the summer with Makayla? I know that something happened because of the way that Cedric reacted—"
"Her dad slapped her, so she came to my house," I don't hesitate to tell him.
Maybe telling him wasn't the brightest idea, but by the way that he looks at her, I can tell that he wants to be less than enemies and more than friends with her. He deserves to know, because I honestly ship them together, no matter how much I hate Louis.
"He what?"
"Don't make me repeat it."
"He hit her?"
I sigh, annoyed, "Yes."
"When was this?"
"End of July."
I predict what he'll say before he even starts thinking of what to say. Louis knows everything about Makayla, despite her hating his guts. They know each other more than anyone. Of course Annelise and Nora aren't included. Louis and Makayla came straight of an enemies to lovers romance novel—and I'm living for it.
"Son of a—" Louis whispers under his breath, making it hard to hear him swear. "What day?"
"July 27th, 1993."
