"we're looking at the same moon."
Harry
After a long time of interrogating, we all exit the Womping WIllow. We're walking in tiny groups behind each other since the path is so narrow. Ron and Sirius are at the front, Hermione behind them, Remus and I behind her, and Louis and Makayla behind us. The two of them are talking about random stuff that I wish I could hear. Meanwhile, everyone else can tell that they'll get together someday, if we're all alive by then.
We exit the Willow and I join Sirius in watching the castle.
"I miss going to school here. It was fun until it wasn't," Sirius says. I nod. "You know, James and Lily made me your godfather."
"I know," I smile. He smiles in return.
"Well, I was thinking that... When I'm freed," he says, glancing back at Makayla and Louis, "you, Makayla, and I could all live together, in the country."
"Makayla? In the country?" I laugh for a moment. "Wait—Doesn't Makayla live with the Malfoys? Since—y'know—she is one?"
"She ran away at the end of last summer."
"What?" I say, dumfounded. "She didn't tell anyone..." It seems that those four words have been the most common occurrence whenever it comes to Makayla Malfoy.
"I suppose it's because she didn't want you all to worry for her, or treat her any different. She may be living her life differently, but she didn't leave any version of herself in that attic. She's still Makayla Irma Malfoy, and nothing about her leaving changed that."
This makes me wonder if Makayla has been keeping anything else from us. We're her friends, we deserve to know. I don't say anything else, though.
Sirius and I walk back to the group. Louis and Remus are talking, and Hermione and Ron are watching over Peter Pettigrew. Meanwhile, Makayla is painting on the Womping Willow. Kind of idiotic, but I let her live.
She's using numerous pigments and colors to create Merlin knows what. I notice colors like pink and blue. If I'm one hundred percent honest, I never saw Makayla as a bright colors girl, or a runaway at that. You learn something new everyday, I guess.
She jolts up when she sees the moon's brightness intensify. Sirius and her immediately look to Remus. He's straining and Louis is as well. The sight of Louis worries the both of them and they run over to the father and son.
Hermione, Ron, and I all look up to the sky. There it is:
A full moon.
