"in my best dress, fearless."
Annelise
Louis and Makayla almost kissed. Louis and Makayla almost kissed.
Oh. My. GOSH.
Did my prayers just get answered? Well, no—they didn't actually kiss, but the real thing must be on it's way! I've been dreaming of this since they closed that door to stop the flying keys together.
"It's not that big of a deal, Annie," Louis groans as we walk into the Great Hall.
"It means everything!" I exclaim.
As we walk to the Slytherin table, I realize that I might be confronted about eating with Preston. My worry is replaced with some sort of confusion when I see Jordyn and Theodore sitting on either side of Makayla. Hesitantly, I sit down in between Louis and Mattheo.
Upon my arrival, I see Makayla smile at Mattheo. Are they plotting murder me or something?
"Well, how kind it is to finally see you, Annelise," Makayla teases. Mattheo can't wipe a smile off his face.
Yup, they're plotting to murder me.
Note from Makayla: Or something...
"What?" I ask, playing dumb. I know that the act won't last long, but I will try anyway. Makayla is smart, so I'm not surprised when I hear what she's about to say.
Note from Mattheo: What the heck.
"Why haven't you been sitting with us lately?" she asks, adjusting the way her arms are folded on the table, holding herself up.
I pull something out of my butt, "Jordyn told me to." Perfect excuse.
She rolls her eyes as Louis speaks up, "So, Makayla, have you figured out what the riddle thing means?" I'm confused because I haven't got a clue about a riddle. Louis didn't get that far in his story about the two of them almost kissing.
Makayla sighs and toys with her food. "No clue. It makes no sense! I'll have to ask Hermione about it, I guess."
Louis nods, letting the silence float around like a bubble, with only us inside. It's awkward, yet relaxing.
Jordyn pops the bubble by saying, "When do Quidditch games start being scheduled?"
Makayla scoffs, "They canceled them for the games."
"Are you kidding me?" Theo chimes in, annoyed, seeing as he's also on the Quidditch team. Same as Mattheo and Draco. Louis doesn't, though, because he's a wimp.
Note from Louis: What the hell, man?
Mattheo rolls his eyes as he says, "Typical. We didn't choose for this competition to happen!"
"Dumbledore says that we need to be patient for next year," Makayla murmurs.
"That's stupid," Theo sighs, stuffing his mouth with food.
Mattheo nods, agreeing, "Right." He also stuffs his mouth with food. Gross.
We all avert our attention to Ron when he receives a package from his mother. When he opens it, he murmurs, "Mum sent me a dress..."
Harry says, "Well, it does match your eyes. Is there a bonnet? Aha!" He laughs as he pulls a bonnet from the box and puts it to Ron's neck.
"Put those down Harry!" Ron says, annoyed, walking over to Ginny. "Ginny, these must be for you."
"I'm not wearing that, it's ghastly," Ginny says.
Hermione breaks out laughing.
"What are you on about?" Ron asks.
"They're not for Ginny," she laughs. "They're for you!" Fred and George laugh at this and I notice that Makayla can't help but let out a soft snort. "Dress Robes!"
"Dress Robes..." Ron says, perplexed. "For what?"
