"hard to sleep. could it be only me?"

Makayla

I have been having horrible dreams lately. Tonight is worse. It is about Arthur Weasley. He's getting attacked by some sort of snake. I'm the snake.

I wake up, sweaty and screaming. This wakes Jordyn and Pansy up.

Pansy agrees to take me to Dumbledore while Jordyn goes to get Snape. When we get downstairs in the main part of the common room, we are met by Louis and Draco's exhausted faces. The screams woke them.

There are tears streaming down my cheeks, which alarms Louis almost immediately.

"What—" he starts to ask.

Pansy cuts him off, "No time to talk. Come with us to Dumbledore's office."

Louis agrees and comes with us, Draco going back to his dorm. I don't care. I'm shaking due to the cold December air and my tears are the only things keeping me warm. All my brain can think of is Arthur Weasley's screams. I want to scream again. For the past two years, that man has been more of a father to me than Lucius Malfoy could ever be for my entire life. The dream was too real. What if it was real? What if I'm too late?

We walk into Dumbledore's office, the whispers pausing as we meet the eyes of Dumbledore and McGonnagal. I notice the Wealseys rushing out—all of them, their faces terrified.

"What's going on?"I ask in a whisper that is barely coherent to the two teachers. McGonnagal looks at Dumbledore expectantly. He says nothing to me, but continues talking to the people in the paintings. I lose my patience for the hundredth time this whole semester, my head twitching slightly before I'm randomly screaming, "I WILL NOT BE IGNORED, ALBUS. I MAY NOT BE THE FAMOUS HARRY POTTER, BUT ARTHUR WEASLEY IS NO LESS IMPORTANT TO ME, SO YOU WILL AT LEAST GIVE ME THE DECENCY TO LOOK AT ME, DAMN IT!"

Everyone looks at me, no stun in their expressions, but fear instead. They're scared of me. Dumbledore, Louis, and Pansy look at me like they know what I am—a monster. All of my nightmares have come true. I am becoming a monster. I'm becoming my father.

I clear my throat and look at the floor, tears falling faster as I speak again, my voice just above a whisper and cracking on every word, "Don't leave me in the dark please... He's basically my father..."

Dumbledore stays silent. I feel like crying.

"Please?" I ask through a desperate sob.

"Albus, she has the right to know..." McGonnagal mutters.

Dumbledore slowly starts speaking to me for the first time in the past year.

"Miss M—" he stops himself. "Makayla, how did you know something happened to Mr. Weasley?"

"I had a feeling..." I mumble.

"More like a dream!" Pansy corrects me. I wanted to leave that out so I'd sound less crazy, but I guess I don't even get that.

"Minerva, do you know how far Severus has gone with Potter?" Dumbledore asks as the door swings open again.

"I couldn't fine Snape at all, but I did find Hermione and she—"

Jordyn stops talking when she reads the room.

McGonnagal clears her throat before saying, "They have gone to the potions room to introduce Potter to Occlumency, Professor," to Dumbledore.

"Good, because Makayla needs it too."

"Occlumency?" I ask as McGonnagal walks over and gently grabs my arm. "Why does Potter—"

I don't get the chance to finish before I am dragged out of the room.
