"i still love you."

Louis

I wake up to Hermione yelling at Harry, Jamie, Mattheo, Theo, and Ron to get up. Last night, my father took us to the Burrow, another word for the Weasley house, for the Quidditch World Cup. I only agreed because my dad said Makayla would be here. Annie agreed because Jordyn and her brothers are here. Specifically, Jamie. She's been head over heels all summer.

I groan, pulling the sheets over my head. As I do so, I hear two pairs of footsteps climb up the stairs and walk in. I recognize their giggles. It's Makayla and Annie.

Before I know anything more, Makayla is pulling the sheets off me, revealing my bare chest and gray sweatpants that are pulled just to my waistline. She giggles as she says, "Wake up, moonpie."

I rub my eyes, tiredly shouting and assessing her, "What if I was naked?"

"I'd obliviate myself so fast," she says, pulling Ron's pillow out from under his head, leaving him groaning in annoyance. I smile softly, sitting up with Harry as Hermione walks downstairs and Makayla violently shakes Mattheo awake, while Annie gently nudges Jamie to wake up.

"Leave me alone, Malfoy," Mattheo shouts angrily.

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!" Makayla laughs, collecting all of our pillows.

"Oh, piss off," he groans, pulling the sheets that lay over his lower torso over his head.

Makayla rolls her eyes as she makes her way to the door, my eyes staying on her the whole time, lingering all over her figure longer than they probably should. She turns around just before leaving to say, "If you all don't get out of the bed this instant, I'm telling Mrs. Weasley to leave you all here and you won't see Viktor Krum."

We all jump up from our beds, stumbling around as we get our clothes on. Makayla and Annie laugh at each other.

"It's nearly like they're in love," Annie laughs, making her way to the door.

"Shut up, Annie," I say, struggling to get my trousers on.

They laugh as they leave, shutting the door behind them. Harry, Mattheo, and Ron all look at me with smug looks on their faces.

I bat my eyes in confusion before asking, "What?"

"You were smiling and staring at Malfoy an awful lot more than usual," Mattheo laughs, buttoning his trousers.

"I don't smile and stare ever!" I defend myself.

"You do for her," Ron smirks, causing Harry and Mattheo to laugh.

"Makayla and I are just—" I take a moment and think. What are we? We surely aren't anything romantic, but are we friends? I've never thought to ask. We know loads about each other, but we also hate each other. Well—I know that she's devoted to saying that. "I don't know what we are, but I don't like her! Not like that!"

"Whatever you say, Lupin," Harry smiles, buttoning up his wrinkled shirt.

Note from Makayla: Ugh, poor people problems.

I roll my eyes, grabbing my button up shirt and walking down the many, many stairs. I don't bother to put my shirt on because I'm too tired and it's super humid.

When I enter the dining room, the first thing I see is Makayla talking to Ginny. They talk loud enough for anyone to hear.

"When was the last time you saw him?" Ginny asks, carrying a few plates to the table with Makayla.

Makayla sighs as she organizes the plates around the dining table, "Last year just before we went home for the summer."

"You could just switch tickets with me," Ginny smiles. "They have me seated with Ann, Louis, and Jordyn, so I think it's better anyway."

Makayla smiles, giving Ginny a hug, "Life saver!"

"No problem!"

Makayla spots me as she pulls away from the hug and smiles, not really caring nor noticing that I'm not wearing a shirt. She walks over, saying, "Hey, Louis! Are the others coming down?"

I return the smile with a grin on my lips as I look down at her, replying with, "Slowly, but yes."

"Well, breakfast is nearly done with!" she says, turning to go into the kitchen. I watch as she walks off and the image of her smile and my name rolling off her tongue flutters through my mind like the butterflies in my stomach.

Holy shit.

I still fucking like Makayla.

Worst nightmare ever.
