Makayla

Umbridge and McGonnagal had an argument two weeks ago, which ended with a buttload of new additions to the school, as well as partial control given to Umbridge.

I can't even begin to name all of the rules she's put in place.  She's been going around, giving our teachers evaluations like she's some American education administrator.  She even tried getting rid of Professor Trelawney!  Dumbledore stopped her, though—first thing he's done in weeks.

Grayson agrees with all these rules and is working with Draco and his friends to be 'hall monitors.'  Kill me now.

Neville found the room of requirement, which is where we're planning on meeting to start the classes.  Since Louis is in basically all of my classes (which I think Dumbledore did on purpose), I'm walking with him.

"So, explain it to me again," he says for the fifth time.  I swear, he's like a toddler.

I let out an annoyed sigh, reluctant to even say it again.  I do it anyway though.  "The Room of Requierement is a hidden room in the castle that only appears to people in need.  We were in need of a space, the Room revealed itself to Neville."

"Oh," he says, finally seeming to understand.  "Magic is so weird."

"Yeah, tell me about it," I say, joking.  "Imagine none of this was real and we're just characters in a book that muggles read."

"Highly likely," he agrees as we round a corner.  "Didn't you say Voldemort had no nose?"

I laugh.  "Yeah, seeing that was straight out of a horror book."

We reach the Room of Requirement and the door carves itself out of the wall.  As we walk in, we are immediately surrounded by a crowd of people, a smile peering on my lips.

Louis stands with Ann.  She whispers something with a smirk on her lips.  He lightly punches her in the arm.

I stand with Harry and clasp my hands together, announcing over the many conversations in the room, "Alright!  I think we have everyone here, which means we can start.  I'm Makayla and this is Harry, which you should already know and we are going to be your proper Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers."

Louis rases his hand.  I roll my eyes.

"What Louis?" I ask, annoyed, but not really.

"What's the first thing we're learning?"

I'm surprised by the question.  It was actually smart... for him.

"Oh!  Good question," I say, smiling.  "Harry, would you like to explain?"

Harry nods and starts explaining as I take notice of a mirror in the room.  Pictures are pinned to the border.  I take a step forward to get a closer look.  Cedric.  There's a photo of Cedric.  Next to it is a picture of the Order of the Phoenix members.  Sirius, Remus, James, Lily...

But Cedric...

I'm about to start growing tears when Harry says, "Makayla and Louis, you'll be our second example."

I look back at the group and see Ron on the floor and Hermione laughing.  We're practicing dueling.  Shouldn't be that hard.

I step forward.  Louis does so as well.  We get in position, rasing our wands.

"I'll be easy on you, I promise," Louis teases.

"That's rich coming from the man who took three weeks to master Wingardium Leviosa."
