Six Feet Under

You opened your eyes after what felt like the longest sleep you'd experienced in your life. You couldn't deny you almost felt worse for wear.

Your breaths were shallow as you came to consciousness. Which was strange in itself but what was stranger was that there was little difference between your eyes being open and closed.

You attempted to stretch as your back was aching but smacked your arms into what felt like solid wood walls.

You stopped. Though you wished to panic straight away, you took a  moment to feel out your surroundings. You were trapped. Every surface you touched was the same wood. There was only 5ish centimeters of room on any given side.

With the scent of damp earth in your nose and the sensation of something crawling or slithering over your leg, you came to a conclusion.

You had been buried alive.

Upon this realization, the memories began flooding back. During a trip to Paris, you had been kidnapped by a faceless man. So careful never to reveal his identity. You couldn't remember much more than his large red wings.

He had been quick to knock you out and that's the last you remembered before waking up 6ft under.

Patting yourself down, you didn't hold much hope for getting help. You knew whoever did this wanted you to die. They wanted your last minutes to be spent in fear and panic.

Your thoughts are interrupted by a lump in your jacket pocket.

Your phone.

Taking it out, you force yourself not to laugh at the man who did this to you. You had to save oxygen but, seriously, how stupid could he be? It was still on 80% battery. Much to your surprise you still had service under all the layers of dirt.

It was at that moment you became aware of how purposeful the phone had been. It began ringing.

"Hello?" You whispered.

"Ah, so glad to see you're awake Miss. Y/l/n." A deep voice echoes through the phone. "I know you're thinking about ringing for help but all the contacts have been deleted from your phone and I'm doubtful the police will find you in time."

You clench your teeth at his words.

"Your friends back in Los Angeles have been notified by 'law enforcement' that you had passed in a freak accident...  with the insistence that your last words were to be left here in Paris, they accepted your fate."

"I really am surprised how easy it was to convince them, even that devilish friend of yours, Lucifer. Took the bait right out of my hand." The man chuckles.
"Goodnight Y/n/n, sleep tight." You felt, in that one moment, you knew that voice.

And now, with the information that your friends had fallen for it... especially Lucifer, you were more determined than ever to get out of this hell hole.

The man thought he'd erased your hope but you were good at remembering things.

So you dialed Dan's number, hoping your hunch had been right.

"Y/n?" The disbelief in his voice was notable.

"Hey." You kept it short.
"You're alive. I knew something wasn't right. Where are you? I'm in Paris looking for you."
"Track phone... buried alive." You conserved your oxygen.

"Buried alive? You've been buried alive? Oh shit." Dan cursed. "Alright, just hang in there... little breaths. I'm on my way." Then Dan was gone.

Whilst you waited, your anger grew, you knew it was unfair but all at once you couldn't believe Lucifer would believe this nonsense. In what world would you want to be buried in Paris? You'd spoken about this before.

Though you were gasping for breath by the time Dan pulled you out of your coffin and held you in his arms, you weren't concentrating on being alive.

The flight back to Los Angeles was deadly silent. Dan hadn't told a soul of his discovery, he could tell from your glare he shouldn't call anyone.

Instead, he lets you do your thing.

Your first destination was LUX. The penthouse to be exact. Dan followed behind, more out of sheer amusement than concern.

No one had seen you storm the way you did as you burst from the elevator, straight to the piano where Lucifer was sitting.

"Y/n?" Lucifer's eyebrows narrowed as he looked at you.

"You let them bury me?." You shouted, smacking his arm.
"Alive," Dan added.
"Alive?" Lucifer questioned.
"You let them bury me alive." You smacked him again and again, not holding back. "You actually believed that nonsense about my last words."
"I don't understand." Lucifer simply stares at you.

"I can't believe you." You groaned, clenching your fists.

"Alright luv, let's calm down." Lucifer tried to settle you, but Dan grimaced.
"Calm down!" You hissed. "I was buried alive." You scream. Pedestrians on the street could hear you going off your rockers.

"I was buried alive..." Then the tears came. You hated it but the realisation that you had been buried alive, that you could have died hit you. Lucifer's arms were wrapped around you in moments.

"Someone kidnapped her, buried her alive, and had false reports sent to us. I told you something wasn't right." Dan updated Lucifer.
"Now isn't the time Detective Douche." Lucifer held you close as Dan left the two of you alone.

"I'm right here Darling." He reassured you, pressing his lips to your temple.

"Why didn't you... I don't... I can't."
"I know sweetheart." He whispered. "I should have known something was wrong but I was... blinded I think... by grief." He excused.
"You should have..."
"I know." He whispers.

"Your closest friend... you should... you should have." You sobbed.

"I know." He says again. "But I need you to do something for me."
"What is it?" He pulled away from you, looking at your glassy eyes.

"I need you to tell me something..." His voice lowered to a rasp.
...

...

...

"Who did this to you?"
