You had lost count of the days since you had last heard from him. You knew he would be thinking about you but he had duties as king.
It was your day as well as thousands of others and that's something that you always disliked. It felt less special if you thought about it being other people's day as well.
You sit in your black and white themed condo that he had bought you all that time ago, sipping at a martini. As you sit staring blankly into your glass you realise it was becoming rather hot, even though you had the air con set the lowest it could be on.
You remove you jumper throwing it to the floor before continuing with your night.
"Oh, Lucy... When on Earth are you coming back?" You sigh. "I miss you, my devilish friend..." You whisper putting the glass in the sink and turning the light off.
It was only at that moment that the ambers and golds of the chaos outside danced across the darkness of your condo. Your jaw drops as you walk over to the window.
Everything outside was a blaze, the screams of terror only just registering in your ears. The glass is scorching to the touch and flames burn everything around your building... you don't understand why your own residence isn't a light... until a message scrawls across the window.

You smirk instantly as you realise the show is a sarcastic birthday wish from your fiery lover.
You go to bed that night watching the world burn, smiling as it keeps you warm the entire night. When you awake the next morning you feel a body behind you and an arm over your waist.
"Wasn't that one hell of a birthday?!" His accent melts you and makes you laugh at the same time.
"Thank you, Lucy." You turn and peck his lips.
"Once upon a time a devil fell for an angel... when the angel was made human for the devil loved her, The devil promised God he'd burn the world for that angel ... cause nothing would stop his love and he kept that promise."
Your charming man kisses you quickly on the lips leaving them burning before disappearing with one last whisper.
"See you soon. Happy birthday."
