Call after call after call... it was a never-ending loop of Lucifers name popping up on your phone, wondering why you'd been ghosting him for the last few weeks, ever since you had agreed to give in and go out with him.

It was that evening, after your morning appointment and getting through the day with your heart beating a million miles an hour, that your health declined. You managed to get yourself back to the hospital before it got too bad but since then, you've been lying limply in your hospital bed, your independence ending at feeding yourself.

You couldn't gain the strength to argue with Lucifer whilst you were this weak, nor could you face him whilst already facing your final days.

You hadn't told a soul about your illness, never wanting to have people treating you like a delicate little flower. You just spent the time you had left doing everything you've ever wanted to do. Your theory was that once you had completed your last goal by kissing Lucifer, you're body gave to the beckoning call of death.

You knew that tonight was your last one, you could feel your lungs struggling to take in air and your heart slowing over the passing hours. And as the minute hand hit twelve taking you to your 30th birthday, you closed your eyes...

Never to be opened again.

Chloe had found out through Dan, who knew from a friend at the hospital... that's how Lucifer found out. That's how he ended up, standing at the end of your bed, stiff, jaw clenched and tears welling in his eyes.

After many minutes of staring, he stumbles forth, his shaking hand resting against your cold cheek. He leant down, placing a gentle kiss on your cheekbone. He takes the Iv needle and stabs it into his hand, pressing his mouth against the open end and blowing air into his bloodstream. His body convulses, his limp body dropping to the floor before reducing into nothing.

His body gathered in a cloud of ash in front of the gates he had left behind so long ago. He was back...

And he couldn't even guarantee you were there as you were the most angelic being he'd ever met... so why would you be there? There was only way for him to find out...

So, he stepped through the gates, ready for the worst

But hoping like hell for the best.

Shorter one but could possibly be a part three if you want it to be. Do you want a part three? Also, go check out LIFELINE, my JAMES CONRAD story! It's getting to the good stuff...
