"You're late, looks like I won today" Draco said with a deadpan face.
I sniffled, my throat sore. "I'm not feeling quite well" I croaked, annoyed at everything. Being sick had soured my mood.
Draco immediately jumped back. "You're sick! You should go to Madam Pomfery!" He exclaimed.
"Oh no, I'll be fine in a matter of days, don't worry bout me!" I reassured him.
"I don't care about you! I just don't wanna get sick and have to take that bloody Pepperup Potion! It tastes like watered down peppers!" he said in disgust. I glared at him annoyed, I'm the one who has to deal with this stupid bloody cold.
In a mocking manner I coughed on him. "Oh no! I hope you don't get sick too!" I said sarcastically.
Turns out it was more than a simple cold, it was the flu, and thanks to me we had both caught it. Along with the flu came vigorous puking. Madam Pomfery didn't have the supplies to make a Pepperup Potion, let alone two, so a lot of moderated rest was prescribed to both me and Draco.
"This is your fault." He groaned from a couple beds away.
"Let me guess. Your father will hear about this?" I joked, looking over towards him. His already pale skinny figure, was now a sickly green shade, and his bones were protruding even more so. Although I can't say I looked any better.
"Oh haha." He rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed.
I soon felt another round of barf coming. And after further inspection I realized I clearly wasn't getting enough food and water.
"I'm going to the kitchen" I said sitting up out of my bed slowly, and stretching. "You should too, you clearly haven't had enough nutrients."
"And risk contaminating all the food, then getting in trouble? No thank you." He said, turning away from me. I shrugged and headed towards the kitchen.
It was around half past 9, so there weren't many students out, but there also weren't any teachers roaming the halls looking for students out of their dorms since it wasn't past curfew either. I made my way to the kitchen, where Sophie had taught me to 'tickle the pear'. It sounds odd out of context, however I came to find out it actually meant tickle the portrait of a pear hanging on the wall, in order to enter the kitchen.
Entering the kitchen there were hundreds of house elf's filling the room, which was as big as the great hall. There were four wooden tables to match the house tables, and the walls were decorated with pots and pans and strainers, to complete the room there was a giant fireplace. "Um..." I cleared my throat. Doing so made most of the house elf's look at me. Not liking the attention I averted my eyes to the floor. "I was wondering if you could make me some food?"
The house elfs started to scatter around the kitchen preparing food. Looking around at there sudden movement, I started to feel weazey again. Clenching my stomach I felt a tug on my t-shirt. There stood a house elf with big brown eyes and unusually big bat like ears. "What would malady like?" He (I assume) asked.
I smiled "Some apples, tea, and chicken node soup would suffice, thank you!" The house elf widened its eyes with a smile on his face.
"Of course miss-"
"Uh just call me Lindsey. What should I call you?" The young elf's eyes widened even more so, and soon I realized that there were other elf's staring at the interaction.
"Master, just calls me elf, but my name is Hoppy" He said shyly.
I stuck me hand out for him to shake. "Well hello Hoppy" I instantly liked this big eared elf.
Hoppy started shaking his head. "Oh no, no, Hoppy must not disrespect miss Lindsey, he could not" Oh, right. Elves thought they were unworthy of shaking a wizards hand.
I took his hand in mine. "That's rubbish, I insist, it would disrespect me otherwise!" I looked into Hoppy eyes, and smiled.
He looked at me in awe. "Apples, tea, and chicken noodle soup coming up, Miss Lindsey." He along with the other elf's hurried to work.
"Actually could you make that two?" I smiled.
"Of course Miss Lindsey, of course!" Hoppy, hopped away cheerful. I understood why he was called Hoppy.
....
"Here" I said putting a bowl of chicken noodle soup, some tea, and an apple on the table next to Draco.
