today was a quite calm day in the hospital wing. I twirled my wand in my hand as I hummed the tune of 'strangers in the night'. I was in a blissful state unknown to me until I was forcefully snapped out of it. Professor snape burst threw the door with an incoherent Draco.

panicked I rushed to madam Pomfrey's side waiting for her instructions, however, I had a terribly hard time focusing when I saw Draco's stained clothes. "what happened?!" i asked. before however, I was given an answer he had already rushed away somewhere, leaving Madam Pomfrey and me instructionless.

"Lindsey get his shirt! check his wounds!" she ordered.

surprised by her command I had to double-take "his shirt?" I blushed "y-yes ma'am." I quickly unbuttoned his white dress shirt, and looked at the wounds on his chest, there were deep gashes that slowly seemed to be healing themselves. "they seem deep ma'am! though they do seem to be healing themselves! Maybe Professor Snape did something?"

we spent a long while doing our best to make sure his wounds fully healed, luckily Madam Pomfrey was a master at her profession. when we got him to a stable condition Madam Pomfrey told me to look after him, excusing me from my classes for today.

after an hour or two he woke up from his 'coma.' he groaned and coughed. "Draco!" I said surprised as I rushed towards him. I helped him sit up before questioning him. "what happened? Snape just rushed you in here with no explanation! about scared me half to death."

he squeezed his eyes shut, then opened them, adjusting them to the light. then he looked towards Madam Pomfrey. "I can't say hear," he told me in a hushed voice.

"of course you cant..." I sighed, tucking my hair behind my ear. "you worried me." I blushed, hitting his arm with the back of my hand.

"ouch! right hit the injured man." he joked, making me roll my eyes.

"you deserve it." I crossed my arms.

"how?" he asked.

"you did something, somewhere, somehow." I laughed. he laughed too for a bit, till his grey eyes fell. I admired his features. I quickly averted my eyes and stood up.

"ill get you something to eat! you must be hungry." I quickly went to the kitchen.

"Miss Lindsey!" hoppy the house-elf shouted. "oh Miss Lindsey! it's been too long! How can hoppy help you Ma'am?!" he asked.

"Hello, Hoppy! Let's see would you mind getting me a Green Apple, and some beef or steak? something rich with proteins" I asked.

"of course Miss Lindsey!" the big-eared elf said as he started preparing the food. once it was ready I hurried back.

"here." I said putting the plate on his desk next to him. "best eat it all. even though you're all patched up your body is still probably healing itself." as he ate, I sat there eager to know exactly what had happened. I cleared my throat before grabbing the curtains that surrounded his bed and closing them. then I cast the Muffliato charm on madam Pomfrey. "what happened." I demanded to know.

Draco looked around before answering. "potter." he crinkled his nose. "he was talking to Bell. I ran to the laboratory and he hit me with a spell I've never heard of before." he told me.

"he just attacked you unwarranted?" I asked not fully believing him.

he looked down guiltily. "I shot the first spell..." he told me.

I shook my head and closed my eyes. "merlin Malfoy..." I groaned annoyed. "Idiot," I said while pushing his hair out of his face, revealing his sweaty forehead. "Hold on." I smiled as I quickly got up and grabbed a wet rag. After ringing it out I placed it on his forehead. We both just looked at each other, of course, it only lasted a second because as soon as I realized it, I looked away flustered. "You uh- you should get more rest." I laughed, bitting the inside of my cheek.

"yeah," he said as if he were flustered as well. As I stood up to leave he turned on his side to sleep.

I looked at him for a while, knowing when he fell asleep because his breathing became steadier, calmer. "Draco..." I smiled, walking towards his sleeping body. "Against my better judgment, I- I like you." I blushed, softly kissing his forehead. To my dismay, he opened his eyes, tiredly. My embarrassment had quickly and quietly disappeared as a silent understanding of our similar feelings was made as we gazed at each other closely. We stated that way for a moment. Then I saw a deepening feeling of regret pass across his face. He slowly closed his eyes with a sad smile on his lips. I left him then to rest and heal.
