"Hello, Oma." I said smiling, I brought some more books if you want me to read to you again." I said stating the stack of books down next to her bedside table.

"Lindsey! You know I love when you read to me, but do you want to spend your sixteenth birthday here?" She said patting my cheek.

I smiled at her "of course, Oma! There's no one I'd rather spend it with!" That was a partial truth, if it weren't for the current scenario, I'd be spending this time with Sophie and possibly Astoria, but right now I just wanna be here for Oma. "How are you feeling today?" I asked.

Oma frowned "terrible, it smells so stale in hear, and they won't let me smoke!" She rolled her eyes.

"you know it's for your health, a heart attack is a serious issue!" I folded my arms.

she grunted "tsk, I have lived 65 years that way! 'Ts not like I can't live 5 more!"

I frowned "that's not the point and you know it! You need time to recover! Which means no smoking." I crossed my arms.

"ay yai!" She shook her head. "You should be a doctor!"

"well if I were your doctor I'd say we should be focusing on your health which means, rest, balanced meals, and exercise!" Oma's glare turned into a look of admiration.

she kissed my forehead. "You do realize how proud you have made me? Right?"

I bit the inside of my cheek "yeah I know, I love you, Oma." My voice shook. "But don't talk like your dy- leaving..."

oma smiled "me leaving! I'm coming home next week! Oma is strong!"

"I know you are..." I sighed.

"so do you have any plans with your friends for your birthday?" Oma asked.

"no way I'm staying with you, I've told you this!" I complained.

"that's ridiculous! Your papa said your friends wanted to spend time with you this summer! Don't let me stop you!" Oma complained. "The more you have fun, the better I get!"

I sighed "ok Oma"

....

"merlin look at this place! are you sure this is Diagon alley?" I asked soph as we walked threw the destroyed shops.

"mum told me it's changed but I didn't think it would be this bad..." Soph whispered.

"look! there is olivanders... that's so depressing..." I sighed looking at the sign that used to hang above the door. while we were walking soph and I held onto each other, then a paper blew across the street. I picked it up looking at it.

"bridge collapse, death toll rises?" I read out loud.

"there's one over here too!" soph called from a few feet away. "no bloody way... looks like your boyfriend's dad got in trouble."

"not my boyfriend" I muttered. "let me see." Caught Lucius Malfoy. "merlin..." I wonder if Draco's ok... I clutched the paper sadly in my hands, as soph started walking holding my sleeve.

"and then there was hope." she sighed. I looked up to see a big courageous shop, with a giant robotic man holding a hat. "I do remember ginny mentioning that the twins had opened their own shop... looks good." soph pulled me inside, where there was a whole other atmosphere, there was laughter and chaos.

"ah hello robbingsworth!" one of the identical twins greeted.

"decided to come see the shop yeah?" the other said.

"And you brought a friend!" they said in union looking at me.

"the shop looks good boys" soph laughed "have any recommendations?"

"can't go wrong with the puking pastels!" one said.

"but of course, there are love potions if you're into that!" said the other.

"ill have to check those out." soph pulled me over toward the stand with the potions. "now look at these" soph said holding the pink heart-shaped bottle to me. "maybe Draco will finally accept your feelings" she wiggled her eyebrows.

"no thanks, besides I don't like Draco like that, and even if I did I'm sure no amount of any potion would make Draco Malfoy like me." I shook my head shuffling my hands in front of me.

"oh boo hoo, cmon I was only joking besides I think you don't need a love potion, any guy would be lucky to have you" she smiled bumping my hip.

I awkwardly smiled, blushing at the compliment.

"let's go look at something else." I pulled her to a stand of rainbow-like rocks.

"by the way, I got you a gift. you may not like it but...." she dug threw her bag grabbing a thin book. "happy birthday!" the book was called 'Merlin Makers (wands, wizards, and more) written by W.W. Pomore' "I was thinking you could use it for potions. of course, there's more than that in there, but you can look threw it later."

"thank you, soph" I hugged her.
