"I feel bad." I sighed to Sophie. "I mean I got in on a fluke! ill be in a room filled with actual talented people!"
"don't feel bad, it's an opportunity, plus, you are talented, weren't you tutored by Draco who is a literal genius when it comes to potions?" she said. I rolled my eyes. "by the way ginny has quidditch tryouts tomorrow, I know she'll make the team, but I told her id come to watch. mind if you join?"
"sure ill go." I shrugged, carrying my books. while we were talking I heard a cough from behind me.
"Boris," a voice said squeaking, I turned around and was met with the stare of Wesley.
"erm, hello Wesley, can I help you?" he turned to Sophie.
"Could I talk to her in private?" he asked.
soph put her hands up walking away "be my guest."
I glared at soph before looking at Wesley. "what's up?" I asked.
"well um, I was thinking- more like wondering if uh-" I had I hard time paying attention to him when I saw a shifty-looking Draco walking around "what do you think?" Wesley asked. I looked at him then at Draco who was walking away.
"I uh, sure..." I shook my head. "will you excuse me? I have to do... a thing." I pushed past him, trying to follow Draco, he turned a corner, but when I looked for him he was... gone? "what in merlins name?" I looked around no sign of him. "what is he up to?
....
I sat at the table of the slug club, surrounded by people I either didn't know or didn't care for. we talked about simple ordeals, like jobs and heritage, it was honestly quite boring. I focused on eating my dessert "what do your parents do Mrs. Granger?" Slughorn asked.
"my parents are dentists..." she answered. "they work on people's teeth..."
"interesting! and is that considered a dangerous profession?" Slughorn asked. I laughed, covering my mouth with a napkin.
"sorry" I excused myself.
granger looked at me oddly before looking back to Slughorn "no... although" she laughed "one boy- Robbie Fenwick - did bite my father once. he needed ten stitches" she said awkwardly. soon Weasley- ginny Weasley -entered the club.
"ahh, Mrs. Weasley! come in! come in." Slughorn greeted. even more awkwardly than grangers dentist story, potter stood with ginny, made everyone uncomfortable. "it is fine! time for dessert, that is if Elvis left any!" he laughed.
"so ms. Boris! what about your parents, are they similar to ms. grangers?" he asked.
"uh no, my mum has a part-time job at um the store near our house, though more often than not she's at home with my siblings, my dad however works as a power supplier of sorts... if it weren't for him a lot of muggles wouldn't be able to see at night..." I didn't even try to get rid of the awkwardness with a joke, I just let it linger... "by the way professor?" I asked, eyes turning to me again. "well I've had this idea for a while, I'm not sure if ill even go through with it, but, my oma says- said id make for a fine healer. I was wondering how much of being a healer relates to potions?"
"well, I can't say that I'm an expert in the healing profession, but I heard quite a bit. you may need to ask madam Pomfrey about that." he smiled.
"thank you." I nodded.
