"Sorry Mum couldn't come, Lin. She wanted to but with Timothy home with a cold..." Dad said, driving towards the train station.
"It's fine Dad, I'm happy you came!" I smiled, sitting next to him.
"So I was reading a magazine called- oh what was it -right! The Daily Prophet, they're denying the return of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named? What's that about!?" I felt my heart stop for a mere second.
"I-it's nothing Dad. A boy got hit with a spell last year, and uh- didn't make it... the boy who did it claimed it was a killer from the early 70s." I had lied a little bit, sure, but it wasn't far from the truth, I just left out a couple details.
Dad stoped the car. "Died?" I bit my lip.
"Uh- yeah, but it was outside of Hogwarts... Besides, Hogwarts is the safest place in the world!" I explained.
"You sure you wanna go back?" He asked, unsure.
"Positive."

"Lindsey!" Sophie greeted me with a hug. "I got you something for your birthday!! Wait- Is that an owl?" She looked towards Artemis. I nodded my head.
"Yeah!! Her name is Artemis." I told her.
"She such a cutie!! Anyways-" She shook her head. "Here!" She handed me a present, which was wrapped in a salmon-colored paper. I unwrapped it to find a book called 'The Tales Of The Beetle And The Bard'.
"Ooo thanks Sophie!" I hugged her again.
"Of course!! Now, come sit here." Sophie said, pulling me into a seat. "So what elective classes are you taking this year?" She questioned.
"I'm not sure, maybe care of Magical Creatures, and um- Divinations? Definitely taking Astronomy!" I exclaimed. "How bout you?"
"No idea." She laughed. "So how's it feel being 15?! Your so mature now!!"
"I don't think that's how maturity works.." I said in a matter-of-fact-tone.
"Words of wisdom, spoken by a true mature person." I snorted. I looked around, before looking to the right. Just in time to see a pair of silver eyes looking at me through the window of our compartment. They widened slightly, and turned away, followed by a tuft of blond hair.
"I just saw Malfoy!" I said, in shock. Sophie got up, peeking out the window.
"Hmm." She shrugged. "But, speaking of him, how are you gonna handle him this year? I mean you haven't had my amazing confidence lessons all summer." She inquired.
"I'll just handle him like how Claire handles John." I shrugged and smiled. Sophie raised her eyebrows at me. "Breakfast Club, my dad has it on VCR." I shrugged. "We had to watch it all summer."
"Yes, I know it's Breakfast Club." She sighed. "But didn't John and Claire end up together?" She exclaimed.
I scrunched my nose. "Your looking to deep into it!" I brushed her off. "I just meant I'll handle him with confidence, in fact, last year didn't happen!" I raised my head confidently.
"New year, new you!" She laughed. As we were joking around, our compartment door slid open.
"Hello loves!" It was Marvel. I looked out the window, leaning over towards Sophie, I whispered; "About what I was saying about being confident, yeah, scratch that."
"You haven't broken up with him yet!?!" She whispered yelled.
"I forgot, ok!?" I argued back.
"You forgot!?! You know, you seem really not sad for your first break, sorry, second* break up." She laughed. "You were more distraught over Malfoy-"
I bumped her shoulder. "Just help me out, this once, please!"
She shook her head. "Marvel, we're having girl talk right now." He looked at us curiously. "It means leave." She said bluntly, grabbing Marvel and throwing him out. "See you later!" She waved. "When are you planning to break it off?" I shrugged, looking at my hands. "Seriously, I'd think you would be sadder. I mean last year, you had a whole breakdown, when Malfoy turned out to be Ferret."
"I guess I don't really like Marvel like that. I mean, he is really cute, and charming, but I don't know, do I see myself with him in the future!? No." I sighed.
"Ugh, there's that 15 year old wisdom again!" She groaned, before we both started laughing.
"When's your birthday!?" I asked, feeling guilty.
"February 18th." She smiled. "Right after Valentines."
