The year was going smoothly for me, Sophie and I had gotten closer, and she was giving 'Confidence Lessons' to help me branch out and make more friends. The person I had been messaging had accepted my request to continue writing, I now called him Ferret for some odd reason, and he calls me Artemis, the name of my favorite Greek goddess. Almost every thing in my life was great, besides potions and Malfoy of course.

I checked the archway where letters usually were, there was a parchment it read.

In order to use write a message, the message will appear on another piece of paper with the other user.

So it was an instant messenger, no doubt it was from Ferret. I wrote down the words "Hello Ferret" and almost instantly the words "Hello Artemis" answered me. I smiled and put the parchment in my bag. Before walking to lunch Sophie approached me.

"Did you pick up another letter?" She inquired.

"No, a parchment this time, it looks like it's for quick messaging, see" I showed her the writing.

"Ferret? Are you messaging Draco Malfoy or something?" She laughed.

"Why would it be Draco?" I questioned, I doubt anyone like him would be the sweet person messaging me.

She looked at me before replying. "Didn't you hear? Professor Moody turned him into a ferret, practically the whole school saw!" I started laughing.

"Malfoy finely got what he deserved" she started laughing along with me.

"He deserves more than that, say I don't think I've heard you laugh before?" I thought about it for a moment then smiled.

"I don't think I've laughed for a long while!" Sophie smiled before we sat down.

"Any way, I would be carful about who your messaging, I mean my friend Ginny started messaging someone like this in her first year, turn out it was... he who must not be named" she whispered in to my ear.

"C'mon, it's fine, see!" I said as I wrote on the price of parchment 'Are you he who must not be named?' 'No of course not.' He wrote back.

"That does not prove anything!" She snapped.

"C'mon Soph, Hogwarts is the safest place in the Wizarding World, and besides, if he-who-must-not-be named decided to do that stupid plan of his again, well, then he's stupider than I thought" she sighed at this.

"Fine, just be careful, and- can I eat those?" She pointed to my tangerine oranges, before taking them. "So you gonna go to Hogsmeade with me sometime?!" she asked with her mouth full.

"Uh, sure, I mean, I've never been so..." She snapped her head my way before swallowing her orange.

"You have never been to Hogsmeade?!! LINDSEY!!!!" She smacked my arm, "you poor poor thing, your gonna come with me and Amy next trip"

"Fine, but I don't have any allowance" I reasoned.

"Don't worry, as your best friend I got you" she didn't lie, she was my best friend.

I rolled my eyes before turning to the parchment to see Ferret had written to me. 'What are you eating for lunch?' He asked. I smiled before writing back 'Well I was eating a PB and J With some tangerines, but my friend Sophie ate those. What about you?' I waited a moment before he replied 'Chicken and green apple, say do you mean Sophie Robbingsworth? She's madly in love with one of my mates.' I looked over at Sophie and smirked.
