I love you

(A/N: I meant to post this yesterday for National I love you day, but I forgot lol)

Y/N's POV:

Today was National 'I love you' day and Hailee was at work so I wanted to surprise her with a little gift basket.

I started my journey off at Target because why not? I know that she loves blankets, especially the really soft ones here, so I found some and grabbed like two for her.

I soon made my way to the candy aisle, grabbing every single one that she loved. Plus some gum, since she says she needs it. I found the cutest teddy bear that was purple with a white heart on its chest so I got that too. I know she'll love it.

When I got home, I set up the basket that I found in my closet. It was mildly big, big enough to fit everything inside so I arranged it all up. On the way home, I also picked up her favorite flowers, prepping them before setting them in the vase. I set it down behind the basket and put my card on the table in front of it.

Now I wait for my girlfriend to get home.

Maybe around an hour later, I heard keys from outside the door, and I knew Hailee was home. As soon as she opened the door and made eye contact with me, I was off the couch and into her arms.

My arms wrapped around her neck as she lifted me up, burying her face in my neck, melting into my touch. I kiss the nape of her softly, whispering in her ear. "I missed you. How was work?"

"Exhausting." She mumbled, and I could hear the tiredness in her voice. She moved her head out of my neck, looking up at me with a small smile. "I missed you more, baby girl."

I smiled, jumping out of her arms and taking her hand in mine. "I have a surprise for you." Hailee furrowed her eyebrows in confusion but folllowed me reluctantly to the kitchen. I let her hand go and stepped aside, giving her sight of the basket.

Her eyes lit up immediately, as if all the exhaustion she felt before, melted away. "Oh baby." She said in shock, walking towards the table, sniffing the flowers in the vase and admiring the basket I made for her. "What's this for?"

"Happy National I love you day." I smiled, kissing her cheek and handing her my card. "I love you forever and always."

"Oh my stars." She shuffled, joyful tears stinging her eyes as she read the card. She set it down before picking me up again, taking me by surprise when she spun me around. We both giggled with wide smiles. "You're an angel, I love you so fucking much, Y/N/N. Forever and always." She held up her pinkie, hooking it with mine as a promise, before connecting our lips in a slow kiss.

"Forever and always." I whispered on her lips, feeling her smile get wider as I kissed her once more.
