Vampire Hailee's POV:
Late night hunts were pretty peaceful until your prey decides to scream bloody murder to you have to quickly kill them and sprint away before anyway finds you.
Yeah, that's exactly what happened just now.
The only thing is I'm a brand new, fully blown vampire. I'm still learning how to function with my newfound abilities. Like my incredible speed. I have ran into a wall at least a dozen times.
I ran and ran and ran until the chatter of humans seemed to disappear from my radar. I looked back at the abyss woods behind me, turning back around only to find myself breaking through a hard door and flying into the wall.
"God." I groaned in pain as I spat out a piece of drywall that landed in my mouth.
"FREEZE!" A scared girl, around my age in human years, held a gun up to my head from a far distance. She was only in her pj's so I'm assuming she just jumped out of bed. "How the hell did you break my door and wall?!"
"Trust when I say it was a terrible accident." I tried leaving but the way my body was positioned, kinda made me stuck in the stupid hole. I winced as the hinges of the door released and another crash was heard as the wooden door fell down. "I'm really sorry about that, too."
"What the hell are you doing here?" She pressed on, walking further towards me with the gun. It was completely useless against me but I didn't need to give her another reason to be more terrified than she already is.
"It's a funny story. You might laugh." I chuckled and sheepishly looked at the ground when she stared at me with a glare. "Okay, well, I'm a vampire and-"
"I'm sorry." She stopped me, her brows furrowed as she slightly lowered the gun. "You're telling me you're a fucking vampire."
"Yes, but-"
"That's quite stupid." The Y/H/C girl scoffed with a roll of her eyes.
"Agreed." I grunted in pain as I released myself from the wall, slightly limping as I dusted away the debris from my body. I walked up to her, grabbing the gun as she backed herself into a corner. "But, it's the truth." I held it up to my wrist and shot right through.
The girl let out a scream, hiding herself away from my for dear life as I gently set the gun back down. I dried my arm off, slowly approaching her. "See? I'm okay." I showed her my arm.
She slowly peaked through her arms. "You're really a vampire?"
"Yeah." I assured with a small smile and chuckle. "I'm Hailee."
"Y/N." She lifted her face completely but kept her distance.
"I'm sorry about the door, and wall, again. I'm new to this whole vampire thing so the speed is tricky, but stopping is even harder. I'm still working on it." I admitted while sheepishly scratching the back of my neck. "I'd be happy to help you fix it up, it's the least I can do."
"Thanks." Y/N pushed herself off the ground, arising to her feet and taking a small step towards me before walking in circles around me. "Real life vampire, huh?"
"Yep." When she stopped in front of me, I opened my mouth as my fangs popped out. "These bad boys are real and everything."
Y/N curiously used her index finger to take the pointy edges of them, pulling back with a look of disbelief on her face. "Yeah, you're right. That's crazy." She laughed in shock.
"I know." I laughed alongside her. "Promise you won't tell anyone?"
"I'd you fix my damn door and wall, then yes." Y/N giggled as she began walking to her kitchen. "Can vampires drink beer, by the way?"
My eyes lit up. "We vampires can drink any kind of alcohol." I jogged to catch up with her as she giggled uncontrollably.
